We came here for dinner and enjoyed the food. The best part for us was that the food came out extremely fast despite the restaurant being quite busy. Service was very nice overall and we would definitely come again! Dietary restrictions: Had a section on the menu specifically for vegetarian tacos and labeled gluten free items
Ordered the carne asada burrito for delivery, it was okay. Ingredients were a bit odd, there were peas and carrots inside mine and the salsa on top seems more like marinara sauce then salsa. Meat was dry. It was good but salty.
I have an immense nostalgia for Bel Air from college in Milwaukee, and the Madison location is good enough, but struggles with consistency. Some days the tacos hit, other times they are dry and lacking in flavor, which if you're not paying the incredible $2 taco deal, would be disappointing on the off day. I thought maybe I was having rose tinted glasses but I have been back to Milwaukee Bel airs (water st, oak Creek) and they are a better meal in my opinion. Even my partner, thought I was nuts for being so hyped about the Madison location years back, as they felt it underwhelming but once I took them to a Milwaukee location they agreed. The food feels better prepared and brighter in flavor. The Madison location is just a step below, on those off days it's a dull imitation I will say that since this location opened years ago, I feel it is more consistent and has improved. They've got the salsas down (for real thought they were underwhelming back in the day compared to MKE). The drinks are good. I just wish the food could hit the same highs. On a Tuesday / Thursday, this is easily a 4, maybe 5 depending on the rotation or if you get a day where the food is on point. For 6 bucks (let's be real 8, cause you gotta get those chips), the proportions are filling and you really can't balk. But ive got to consider that 5 out of 7 days you're paying the normal prices, which for the current quality is less of an enticing prospect. I've had meals that were great here, and meals that were disappointing, and that does average out to a 3 star a-okay End note, the staff has always been great and very friendly. 2024 update: those 2 dollar tacos are in the past now, which is sad to see. Food quality is still a step behind, but I could drink that emulsified arbol salsa by the gallon.
