Beef & Sea

My family is from New Bedford Massachusetts so seeing a place billed as New England that served whole belly clams and other New England style seafood, even if all of it is fried was exciting. Short version is that I am still looking for someplace to get my whole bellies and New England seafood. This place is Meh at best. Decor is nothing to write home about and service is mediocre with us having no setups and such. Nothing wrong but nothing standing out either. But the real reason to be here is that whole belly clams are rare. But they were underseasoned, doughy, and not very flavorful. I may have even been slightly undercooked because they were mushy and just not great. So if you wanna see if it was an off night be my guest. But for me it’s a no.

First time thete. I had haddock and fries, and husband had pastrami and fries. It was all delicious!!! Very affordable lunch! Atmosphere was nice and everything very clean! Service was great and even have outdoor seating! Highly recommend…we will be back!

Went for first time Friday evening. Greeted by friendly smiling faces. Seated quickly , an attentive waiter brought us waters while we perused menu. Were told their roast beef was great , so we tried it. Ordered two sandwiches one “the classic” the other the Super . Both came with a huge mound of tender shaved RB , some bbq sauce, and they were delish. Also shared pints of hot crispy fries and crunchy onion rings. With two soft drinks a very reasonable $37.00 check. Definitely will return !!

We finally found some GREAT fried whole belly clams and didn't have to drive for over an hour. New restaurant with reasonable prices. Again the fried whole belly clams were so good that my wife had to have 2 orders. We will return!!

The reason such a low review is because my husband ordered a open face roast beef sandwich and its wasn't done it was still pink and there wasn't very much gravy on it. My son and I both ordered a burger called the Skyway (I think that's what it was called) well anyway ot tasted freezer burnt and the bun was bigger than the burger meat. We will not be back we were very disappointed.

My first visit was today. The restaurant was very clean, bright and the employees were friendly. I ordered the haddock filet sandwich and onion rings. I was very impressed! The onion rings were homemade and the haddock sandwich was large and tasty. You won't find another fish sandwich that tastes as good and priced this good in our area! I will definitely return when I'm back in the area.

Please save your money. Roast beef sandwich was bloody the roll soaked with blood it was disgusting!!! Baked potato no butter given. Could not eat this garbage, waste of money.

I was hoping to love this place, but our food was very underwhelming. I was excited to try the roast beef sandwich, but my roast beef was very overdone, not even a touch of pink (I prefer it rare), and lacked flavor. I was also a bit upset that I paid $1.50 to add BBQ sauce and received about a quarter-full tiny sauce container that didn't even cover the sandwich. Had I had enough sauce, it would have helped the sandwich tremendously. I also added cheese, but could barely taste it. The onion rings were cold and soggy, but would have been fantastic fresh. Based on other reviews, it seems maybe quality control is the issue since some have posted great reviews and their food, particularly the roast beef, looks perfect. We may give it another try when I stop seeing similar reviews to mine.

I really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. I was drawn there by a Facebook post and the whole belly clams got my immediate attention; I had never had them before. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Captain’s dinner with Shrimp, scallops and clams. The food was delicious. I will definitely go back there.
