Batch New Southern Kitchen and Tap: Fort Lauderdale

Fun place. Great food and one of the best whiskey bars in South Florida. Also a fantastic Brunch spot.

Me and my friends all took off a Sunday to finally get a brunch experience . The food and atmosphere was excellent but our server Kyle gave us terrible service , his attitude was awful , he would constantly look at our four empty glasses and continue to ignore us. We got 3 glasses of bottomless in 90 minutes when we were done drinking one glass within 15 minutes. Service was so bad we only shared one appetizer and left . All the other servers were constantly visiting their tables with a smile on their faces and we wish we got someone else . Although we were all upset we tipped him 22% and still didn’t get a thank you. A smile would go a long way especially if you know you’re giving bad service.

I’ve never came to an establishment where the owner screamed in my face calling me a liar and stating I did not follow policy. Sir, I am not your child, your employee nor did I come to eat for free. I am a customer who came spend my money to celebrate a milestone with my money. The owner treated us the way he did because we were BLACK!!!! I’ve spent my money at places that are way more fancier domestically and internationally yet NEVER had an owner scream in my face calling me a liar. Policy or no policy you never talk down on people. Batch in Delray & Miami show way more hospitality. I will NEVER step foot in this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone!!!!

The chicken and waffles was one of the bests we’ve had in a long time. The chicken was tender & juicy . The burnt ends were good but a little too much sauce. The deviled eggs were delicious. The bloody Mary was fire.

This place really needs more breakfast options that don’t have egg in them. But my larger gripe is that they don’t allow reservations for parties larger than 8, which is absolutely ridiculous for most restaurants, let alone a brunch place. An extra person could’ve easily been accommodated instead of making me take my business elsewhere. Had no issues with this last time, so if you want a larger party reservation I suppose you’ll have to just tell them it’ll be 8 people and pull up an extra chair or two yourself.

I used to be a regular at Batch and I recommend this place to EVERYONE. I reviewed this place on my socials back in 2022 and rated it as Fort Lauderdale’s best happy hour. However, I moved out of the area and when I came back to visit, I was really saddened to see that they raised their prices and they’re happy hour is not as good as it used to be. Small bites included less food and the drinks that used to be include on their happy hour menu are no more. Plus, they raised the prices on the happy hour drinks that are still included. I would still recommend this place overall just because they have amazing drinks and a great atmosphere. Some of my favorites are the bootlegger and their rum and Coke (which is made with a house made cola and their house made rum). They have a Pecan Whisky which is to die for (if you like sweet) also house made and they bottle and sell both the rum and whiskey. Their food for both brunch and dinner is good (4/5) but sometimes can be hit or miss if they are busy. The drinks are always fantastic and I love the service when I go.
