Such a great experience!!! My friend and I made dinner reservations. The whole menu (attached in the pictures) was delicious, tastes, presentation, textures and portions. We were seating by the prep section, so we were able to watch the chefs decorating/putting plates together. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly.

Cocktail bar with a limited snack menu. Nice beer menu, mostly can/bottles, good cocktails, friendly service. Open space with adequate seating, industrial vibe.

To be clear - This is a review of Bastion Restaurant, not Big Bar. If you don't know Bastion, you don't know next-level dining in Nashville. I was hesitant to write this review, as I'd like to keep Bastion as much of a secret as possible. But keeping such a secret would be doing a disservice not only to anyone in Nashville who appreciates an innovative yet unintimidating culinary experience, but also to those who make the restaurant want it is. Calling the service impeccable is an understatement. Everyone from the host to the sommelier to the sous chefs are genuinely interested and excited about the menu offerings. Listening to their descriptions of each dish or accompaniment is akin to reading the back cover of your new favorite novel. The multi-course, preset menu is crafted to subtly combine seemingly distant ingredients with familiar, fundamental elements. Eggplant and mango? Yes. Mushrooms and marigolds? Double yes. I suggest adding the wine pairing to your meal. If you're looking to impress or be impressed, this is the place.
