The best ice cream in the Philadelphia city area
The OG. Def worth a shot if you’re visiting Philly. Everyone’s got their favorite flavor, mines salted pretzel!
We order a plain vanilla kiddy cone, it was soo chewy and hard to scoop it out of the cup and on top it was expensive.
Staff is outstanding. Great selection. Sorbets are awesome.
Ice cream in our milkshake tasted like chemicals. I’ve never tasted ice cream like this and didn’t realize my kid was eating it till I tried it and stopped her. I hope it wasn’t weird chemicals and just bad ice cream.
Many people have "must visit" places in the Reading Terminal Market. For us, it's Bassett's Ice Cream! It really is the best ice cream anywhere but serve it in the Market, with the greatest staff and this why we stop any time of year! Today, it was low 20s outside, did we care, NO, we had to have our Bassett's!
アメリカ最古のアイスクリーム屋ということでトライしてみました。店員は優しくて良かったよ!抹茶アイスはそれっぽかった!
Fantastic experience! Rob and other staff were welcoming and prompt! They were not only quick to answer any weird questions I had about the yummy selections, their descriptions were perfect too! and the ice cream was hands down the best!!! I will definitely be back!
Even on a cold day, it’s easy to ❤️ Bassetts. Lines can be long of course anywhere in the Reading Terminal, so plan accordingly. That doesn’t mean you won’t find a calm moment when you can get in there and order right away! There is not much seating accept for a few stools at the edge of the station. Kid-friendliness: If ordering a cone for a young child, you can ask for a extra cup so when it starts to melt or they need a break from eating, you will have a place to put it for a moment. ⭐️
Delicious, the kids size ($6) is huge! Amazing for GF / Celiac . They brought out their manual to get a gluten free flavor, washed their scoopers, wore gloves, and opened a BRAND NEW container of ice cream (they offered!). Customer service was 10/10, will be returning! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free / Celiac Disease
