This place was amazing, from the food to the staff. Hard to believe this place has been open for less than 5 months. The brisket and pulled pork two meat combo was amazing. The best beans and potato salad for sides!!! Another great thing about this place, it’s dog friendly. So bring your fur baby with you!!
This is the best barbecue I have eaten in Tucson, by far. The old Redd's and Brother John used to share the title. Bashful has taken over. It compares favorably with Texas barbecue. Whoever is running the smokers is doing a great job! The brisket was fantastic. The only complaint and it is a minor one is that the bar is understaffed and a little slow.
Tucson finally has legit barbecue! The venue is fantastic and the food is amazing. I also love chatting with the pitmasters.
First visit. Good friendly people with good food.
The food was delicious! Service was great, friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, good prices.
Most expensive bbq in town. Moist and well smoked. Plates overpriced, better to buy by the pound. In my opinion this restaurant not likely to succeed if they don't lower their prices. Once the novelty of its newness wears off people will eat where prices are better. I did not get anything from the bar so cannot comment on that aspect. No music or entertainment on the Friday night we were there, contrary to rumors of upcoming bands.Worth trying the smoked meat by the pound but not a likely staple for bbq when both Dickeys and Brushfire are half the cost .
First off, it is SO great to see some true BBQ in Tucson (that BFB place doesn't count....yuck). I had a few things on my first venture. The ribs were very good. I'd give them 4 stars. Same for the mac n cheese and beans. Both very good. The brisket needs a little work IMO. It's cooked really nicely, but there is something missing flavor-wise. Maybe it needs a bit more wood, or a different kind, or a bit more seasoning (don't skimp on the amount of salt and pepper with brisket). I'm hopeful they'll tune it in. Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix is worth shooting for. They have excellent brisket. Top notch. Note that I'm a big BBQ fanatic (not an expert, just a fanatic). I reserve 5 stars for those places I stand in line for 1-2 hours and then am perfectly happy I did. Bashful Bandit is not in that category. Yet. But maybe they can get there? A number of reviews complain about price. I thought it was fair. True BBQ of this quality is not cheap. It's the opposite of fast food after all. The atmosphere is great. They've really built out an enjoyable place to eat and hang out.
We lived, in TX for over 30 years & had many great BBQ. Moved back to Tucson in 2017. Ate at many ‘great BBQ’s’ In Tucson, this is THE BEST! Any lover of BBQ that misses this, shame on you!
I'm specifically shouting out the new bar hours and deals! $5 margs you can't beat and $10 bites that are just as good, if not better, than the daily menu. Friday's and Saturday's starting around 8:30 to midnight. This has easily become our friend groups Friday night spot! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet!
Brisket is fantastic. Best Texas BBQ Brisket I've had in Tucson in a long time
