Second and likely last time at Barrio Queen. Despite having a reservation and empty tables in sight, we were seated 20 minutes late. The 18 year old hosts were quite rude and slow acknowledging me when I was standing in front of them at the counter. The restaurant itself was a mess - MANY tables left with dirty dishes, guacamole stands left dirty, trash on the floor, women’s bathroom without paper and overflowing trash bins. The food was generally good, but it was difficult to get our server’s attention when a part of our dinner order was missing. Drinks took 20+ minutes to be delivered. We suspect understaffed and staff members who are dissatisfied with their jobs. There was not much enthusiasm in their attitude. Just not a an example of a well run restaurant…. Parking: Lots available.
Horrible service, was there for 3.0 hours because our waitress was so slow in every aspect, ugh, not going back here ever!
First visit to Phoenix and Barrio Queen was recommended to us by a local. On the recommendation of our helpful, attentive and fun server, Arturo, I ordered the Chiles En Nogada and it was sublime!
We had delicious burria beef tacos and prickly pear margaritas. The complimentary chips and house salsa were so good. The salsa ingredients are roasted and then blended for a mild yet very flavorful salsa. They also had a great patio with an outside bar!
This is not Mexican food. Everything was so bland. It amazes me how something could be so tasteless. Salt alone wouldn’t have helped either. The ingredients did not taste fresh. Service and atmosphere was pretty good though.
