One of those institutional places in nyc you have to try and won’t be disappointed! The food was so delicious and the staff were amazing. The restaurant is cozy with lots of table but it fills up super quickly depending on the time and day you go. On a weekend, you can definitely expect to wait during brunch hours. We went around 1:30pm and it was easier to get a table then. Make sure to have enough cash because it is cash only!

Best lox bagel I’ve ever had, excellent service (fast and loud), get the latkes. It’s expensive but it’s worth it.

Timeless and wonderful. The kindness and patience of the staff is a joy. The food is presented with the same love and care.

Only got a photo after we'd begun demolishing our food but it goes to show how good it is people, that you can hardly wait to tear into everything. Some of the best smoked fish I've ever had, and the amount of onion in the latkes was perfect. The staff are kind, it can get busy, but the service is top notch. I don't think you can really order a wrong thing, so go and get yourself something great because this place is famous for a reason

Excellent place to have a bagel.Kind of expensive for what you get but the taste and the atmosphere is worth it.
