Booked an igloo for a girls night out with friends - good price for the food & drink you receive! David was our server and made us laugh the entire evening. Having just snowed 6 inches, we stayed warm in the igloo with a heater (which they monitored and changed when needed!). Recommend for a unique, fun dinner!

I stopped into Barcocina to grab dinner as it’s close to the hospital my family member is admitted in. It’s been a spot on my foodie list, and I was finally in the area to try it. The ambiance is nice, but the service was unusual and borderline discriminatory. When I ordered my food and drink, Roger the bartender asked for a card to place on file. It was a passing thought of why they needed my card, but nonetheless went to bathroom. When I returned moments later my food came out and the server dropped my tacos on the floor. Instead of apologizing, she dropped off the yucca fries and returned to the kitchen. Moments later Roger returned and apologized for the wait and offered a drink for the wait. Once the tacos arrived, I ate a few and still felt unsettled as I noticed other patrons were not asked for a card for their tab. I asked the couple sitting next to me, and they said they weren’t asked for a card. They too thought it was strange I would be asked for mine. In that moment, I felt a rush of disappointment. Today, is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day, and out of all days to experience discrimination and being profiled this truly is sad to have this experience on a day focused of seeing people for the content of their character, not their skin color. I spoke with hostess who was emphatic and connected me with the manager Aaron who took time to listen to my concern and offered me to come back. He confirmed that policy is to take cards and place them on file, but bartenders must be consistent. Consistency or not, I still left with an icky feeling, especially with the non-POC couple sitting next to me who noticed what happened. I won’t return, but my hope is that everyone who enters their restaurant is treated with respect and fairness during their dining experience.

I've been twice, food is sooo good, pricey but very good. However the service is lacking. Staff is taking shots and the bar, talking amongst themselves so they rarely check on you and it's hard to get their attention. They were out of 2 of their beers on tap and it's wasn't even 8pm on a Friday. They let us sit at the bar a little after 7 but them 15 mins later told is we would have to move by 8 cause they had a party coming that reserved the section they told us to sit at....was a very frustrating visit.

We love Barcocina! We were here for 6 hours! We enjoyed their candle class, our igloo and our service at the bar/inside. Everyone was so attentive and welcoming. Definitely a great place to go too!

Desi and Lauren were so helpful and accommodating for a surprise dinner of 20 for a friend and the food and drinks were great! Definitely recommend for group events or just a casual dinner.

We went for our holiday party and had a great experience! The food was excellent as were the drinks. It was a fun atmosphere and comfortably fit our group. Would definitely recommend Barcocina for a group party!

I hosted an event with Barcocina in Lakeview and could not be more impressed with how it turned out. We had about 70 people in attendance and the room was more than enough space. Amazing service, drinks and food - all our guests had a great time. Would definitely recommend hosting your event here!
