Alright mates, strap in for my review on Boston's Barcelona Wine Bar. Imagine living in the bustling city of New York, enjoying all the eclectic and vibrant food from every corner of the world, and then stumbling upon this gem tucked away in Brookline, MA that knocks your socks off. As an elite reviewer with a seasoned palate, I would dare say that Barcelona Wine Bar might just serve the most exquisite Spanish cuisine and wine beyond Spain itself. My journey in Barcelona Wine Bar started with a slight hiccup, a late seating past our reservation, which you'd expect would ruffle my feathers, but the staff carried away any frustrations with their top-notch customer service. Jeff, in particular, is a legend when it comes to this. He made sure we felt valued and compensated and transformed a minor irritation into a memorable experience. As for the cuisine, it's evident it's crafted by extraordinarily skilled chefs who have mastered the art of bringing out the right balance of flavors. If you think you know tapas, wait until you taste theirs. Every delicacy reminds you of the vibrant streets of Barcelona, brimming with a fiesta of flavors. It's like Fenway Park in your mouth, but instead of baseball, there's a Grand Slam of tastes happening. No evening is complete without a perfect wine, you say? Their wine pairing can be best encompassed as a journey along the famous La Rambla. Each pour whispers sweet secrets of vineyards nestled in the heart of Spain while harmonizing its aroma with the flavors on your plate. The bottom line is, Barcelona Wine Bar goes above and beyond in their offerings and customer service, and certainly does not shy away from embracing customers with authentic Spanish hospitality. So if you're after top-rated restaurants in the US that justifies every penny, I reckon you book a table here, and you're in a ‘bonza’ treat!

So despite having a reservation we still had to wait a full hour before being seated, and I see from reading some of the other reviews that it wasn’t a one time thing. I am genuinely wondering, why would you take reservations if they mean nothing? And I don’t mean that rhetorically, I’m actually curious. If it’s something that happens almost every weekend, I think you should consider figuring out a way to make sure it doesn’t keep happening. The food is really good here, but not good enough to make that worth it. Also, the music was so comically loud that my friends and I gave up on trying to have a conversation entirely maybe I'm just lame but it felt like I was in a full blown nightclub rather than a classy tapas bar. Food and drinks great though!

Made a reservation, and despite that it took 45 minutes to get a table after arriving. What’s the point of a reservation system?? Go somewhere else.

Great ambience for a date night or dinner with friends. The cocktails and large plates/tapas options are all top notch. You will be happy with any choices here and the service is fantastic, but the patatas bravas, empanadas, and croquettes are always a must for me. Dietary restrictions: I’m not a vegan or gluten free, but could easily be satisfied with all of their options that satisfy both of these criteria. Parking: Parking is pretty ample around the Washington Square area with plenty of metered and visitor parking areas within a block or two.

Dietary restrictions: Two of our 4 diners were GF/dairy free, and one allergic to chicken. Our server grabbed a menu and marked it up, crossing off items we couldn't have, and making notes next to ones that would need modification to be safe. It was SO nice to order so many shareable dishes. They even had GF bread!

This is a fantyastic small plates place for a date or a team outing! Food: great quality and taste - you can't go wrong with any choices, and there are many great options Drinks: good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Definitely recommend Sangria :) Service: a bit on the "fast come fast served" - my party felt a bit rushed to leave and make space for more guests, otherwise it was pretty fast. Ambiance: love the decor and the vibes, especially the fresh bread you can admire makes you feel like this is the place to be for fresh, delicious food!
