No question food is top shelf as are the prices. Atmosphere not entirely becoming of said prices. The downer was the $5.00 coat fee!!! You're dropping almost $200 per person and they charge a coat fee...Service & attention was excellent.

Had a wonderful time at Barberian’s to celebrate my boyfriend’s milestone birthday! The service was exceptional and he felt so special. The owner even came by to wish him a happy birthday. I called ahead to ask if they do anything special for birthdays and they had a few options including a special dessert and a really great table. Our server offered to take our photo on more than one occasion recognizing the celebration and that was appreciated. It’s definitely got that old school vibe with really interesting art on the walls that makes you feel like you’re in a piece of history! The food was incredible. We got a rib eye steak and a strip loin both cooked to perfection. Shared a salad, and got the onion rings and mushrooms as sides. The onion rings were the best I’ve ever had!! Also a shout out to the baked potato’s that get custom toppings made at your table - loved that! I’m looking forward to going back sometime soon!

Obscenely expensive. Dont remember it being this way when I tried it a while ago. Completely out of our price range as in $100 steaks without apps. Went to the Keg instead.

Fantastic setting and staff. i had the Fillet Maginot with baked potato. the steak was slightly more done than id like for Medium Rare, but the flavor made up for it ten times over. our Server Dave was astounding, going out of his way to make our dinner special. The price was completely reasonable, and i look forward to me next meal at the Barberian's Steak House

1st time trying Barberian's after hearing so much about it (and living less than 10min walk from it). It was my partner's birthday so I took him there. We ordered Caesar salad, escargot, porterhouse and dry aged rib steak to share. The steaks were the highlight and we both enjoyed the rib steak the best compared to the porterhouse. Mind you, the 24oz porterhouse was still excellent but you can't beat a nicely dry aged steak. The only thing I didn't really care for was the Caesar salad because I know I could make a better dressing from scratch. And for $26, I didn't think it was worth it. Service was attentive but not overbearing. I informed the waiter we are sharing everything so all dishes were already split in half for us when they arrive. Even the side of baked potatoe for 1 steak and fries for the others were split for us. That was unexpected and much appreciated. Although a little pricey, overall it was a great meal and it's a place I'd go for special occasions.

My friends and I like to do big dinner once or twice a year to catch up over some great food. I had high hopes for Barbarians but the whole experience was unexpectedly underwhelming. The big win for the restaurant was that the steak was quite good. I had the Aged Rib Steak and it was cooked to a lovely medium rare. Tasted great. Far too expensive, but I get it with COVID inflation and it being a main dish. As well, the Henderson beer was tasty. Sadly, everything else was a letdown. The Baked Potato side was one of the worst potatoes I've ever ever had. My starter, the French Onion Soup, was flavorless compared to others I've had in the city and the general presentation of everythihg was sloppy. My friends ordered the shrimp cocktail which oddly came on a metal plate and the rest of the sides we got were boring and very bland considering what we were expecting for both the price and recommendation (Onion Rings, Tartare etc). That said, I'm not one to make a fuss about food, so it is what it is, but our table staff is what really made the night a mediocre for me. He looked like he'd rather be anywhere else in the world than helping the tables in our area. We had empty cups and dishes on the table for far longer than they should have been there, all while waiting quite a long time for the food to arrive in general. Anytime details were asked for about the menu it was met with a look of "why are you asking me this?" and it just killed the whole experience every time he came by. Naturally and expectedly, this restaurant also slapped our table of six with an automatic 18% tip, which to this day I'll never really understand. As I said, expected, but that usually means the service will be exceptional. This was not the case at all. You can't force people to tip if you're going to phone it in. That's not cool. My last gripe is one that I have with a lot of places, so take it with a grain of salt, but absolutely knew that it would be the case here. No split bill. Fine, that happens. Thing is... the resultant that just charged us well over 1K for a meal won't even let us keep the recipt!!! They said we'd have to take a picture and sort it out on our own, because they don't allow for customers to take the itemized receipt. That is just straight up madness for a restaurant that could afford an updated POS system after one good week of sales. To top it off, the waiter hit us with the "were just old school here" as if that's a brag when it's at the detriment of customer experience. I wish I had a better time because I was really hoping to, but outside of a great steak, there's not much I can praise from my time here.
