Great food, huge portions, good people, when it's busy though, be ready for a bit of chaos and tight quarters. Worth it though
Our trip to barb & Ernie’s was a blast! Right from the get go while waiting in line we had some lovely conversation with long time patrons who got us excited about the meal we were about to have. The staff were so so lovely and the ambiance was perfect. Everyone there seemed very happy to be there. I think the standout for me was certainly the house made sauces. The home made ketchup and mustard bring the meal to the next level. Overall good experience!
I ordered the bacon, mushroom and cheddar omelette with hash browns and brown toast, and a black coffee. The Omelette was reasonable, but perhaps a little over cooked… but the worst part of the meal was the under cooked almost raw hash browns. I used to eat here a lot many years ago, always loved the meals… after this mornings breakfast, I will never go back again! On our way out, we were finally asked if we enjoyed our meal, we were honest with our answer and explained that the potatoes were undercooked near raw… she said I’m so sorry to hear that… no explanation or anything else. Very disappointed!
This is one of the best brunch and German restaurants in Edmonton given the quality and quantity of their food. Be prepared to wait in line on weekends. Note to those that have been here before COVID - They don't offer the dinner buffet anymore. Overall 9.3/10. Strongly recommend: - Eggs Benedict - Bratwurst - Schnitzel - Homemade sauce, i.e curry ketchup
This place should not be overlooked. Definitely worth a stop!
Great food and atmosphere
