Barangaroos Aussie Pies

As a vegetarian the only pie I could eat was not listed on their menu and it took 15 minutes to make, which was unfortunate. The pie was called Unreal Sheppard's pie which was flavorful, although not a flavor I enjoy, but that could just be me. The crust was amazing and I wish I could have gotten just that! Waiting for the pie, I got a Mac & cheese which was disgusting in every way. Smelled bad, tasted bad, and bad taste lingered... would avoid that side.

I didn't know how much I needed a Chicken Tikka Masala pot pie in my life until I had Barangaroos. Now I get one hot for lunch and another frozen for later.

Pretty good pies. We have not had anything beef related so not sure what those taste like. The pie is always crusty. I have the Tikka Masala one and it’s all right, just wish it had more of the tomato flavor and spice. The mushroom and chicken was pretty good. Tastes kind of like cream of mushroom. I’d say the unreal Shepards pie is my least favorite, but it’s all right. Apparently it does taste similar to the ‘real’ Sheppards pie. We used to really like it, but it’s not as good anymore. Guess it’s the flavor again. The lack of flavor might be because I travel from Chicago to a suburb to eat it, and by that time it may not be as tasty. We do warm it in the oven, but yea just not as tasty as it used to be. Could be that we don’t get it frozen either but already baked. I wish the pies were easier to bake because it takes at least 30 minutes to make one if they are out. At least the pies are flaky and can be eaten with just your hands. Shows at least they make it from scratch. Not a big store, designed to grab and go. The takeout window is a nice addition. Vegetarian options: Just the unreal Sheppard pie I think and some of the sides

Delicious pie!

Original Australian meat pies in the centre of Chicago. This place is a takeaway. Pies are great and they have beef, lamb and chicken varieties. All freshly baked or made to order. Great place to get your takeaway lunch.

Seasonal Alert: The Thanksgiving Pie is incredible! Love this place. Just found a new favorite... The Unshepards Pie - plant based. The only thing... There's no warning that the mac & cheese is spicy, and that's not good for me. So heads up.
