Bar Louie - North Shore

Came in with a friend to get some food, sat at the bar that 2 bartenders were working. Ignored for about 10 mins while they talked. Finally was approached by the male bartender which he seemed to be annoyed. Ordered our food then sat for another 25 mins with just water which is fine I’m patient but we had to listen to the staff complain about guest that they have been waiting on. But my reason for this review is I was charged $64 days later when I had a$29 bill and remember it being $34 after tip. Not worth fighting the place for money someone needed more than I did.

Stopped at the North Shore Pittsburgh Bar Louie on March 9th. When we sat down, we were pushed to download the app for the rewards program to get a free appetizer. So we did. A free appetizer sounded good to us. When we went to pay, our waitress took the code from the app in order to take our appetizer off our bill. After that, she told us our total instead of giving us a bill. We assumed the appetizer was off of it without thinking about it. After looking at the prices of the items we ordered later, we realized that the appetizer was not taken off. Now we have no receipt to prove anything since we never got a hard copy bill. Not providing a customer with a hard copy bill is at best, clumsy. And at worst, predatory, not allowing a customer to view what was or wasn’t taken off of their bill when they were pushed to get a “free” appetizer.

We tried Bar Louie last night as our hotel staff recommended they might be the only restaurant still open in the area. We walked in to a pretty empty bar with two bartenders behind the bar, one male and one female. We sat at the bar and asked the male if the kitchen was still open to which he responded “um, I think so” then walked away and never came back even after seeing us waiting to be helped. After sitting there for 10-15 min watching the female bartender chat with some other patrons who were obviously her friends, she finally acknowledged us and took our order. She was rude and threw our check on the bar out of arm’s reach. When we got our food we were missing part of our order but it wasn’t worth trying to get anyone’s attention so we let it go. The food we did get was delicious so kudos to the kitchen, but bar staff was absolutely awful and we would never go back. As someone in the industry myself, I don’t normally leave bad reviews but these people were truly awful and could not have cared less about guest service.

Very nice staff BUT they have flies everywhere . I have been to many places all over the and I have never seen flies at the bar. I think may contact the health department. The staff was saying they are going to quiet because the flies kept flying into drinks . It was horrible . I wanted to order food but I can ONLY imagine what the kitchen looks like . They probably got rats.
