This is our most visited place to eat since we migrated here in Canada.
Sushi was good. There is no need to go to any overpriced Japanese restaurants.
Nothing fancy, but a good choice for some popular Japanese foods (rice bowls, sushi, bento boxes, udon, etc). I had a bento box and the photo on the menu didn't really convey how much food you get for a very reasonable price. You order at the counter and they will bring you your food.
The food was delicious. I had Beef Udon. I'll be going back.
Husband and I were excited to try this place for a change (we usually order from Mikado). Ordering from this place was a huge mistake. We wasted a ton of money as we ordered the party platter sushi on Skip. We tried 8 pieces out of 60 and then threw the rest out. I personally hate throwing away food and wasting money, especially in this economy when eating out is an infrequent treat, but the sushi was just that bad. For us, it was the taste. There’s something off with the fish, especially the salmon and tuna. Compared to Mikado, their sushi fish isn’t fresh. If you get the party platter, keep in mind that many of the sushi pieces you’ll get are the very simple variety (rice and cucumber, rice and tuna). The slices of fish are also small (we ordered some sashimi), so it feels like this place is really cutting corners and cheaping out. We usually clean our plates when we order sushi, and we’ll often fight over the last piece. Not this time. We took eight bites and threw the rest out. We have never done this and we order sushi often. Take from that what you will.
What a great place for an affordable lunch! I had the teriyaki chicken and it was very tasty. I was amazed by the prices, only $11 for a quality and filling meal, that’s not a price point that’s easy to find these days.
