Great (huge) sandwiches, great price, and the owner is a great guy. He had already closed up and turned the grill off when I came up to him and fired it back up to get me a banh mi. I didn’t ask him to and told him it was alright but he insisted. I furthermore didn’t have cash so he made it work with one of the other carts so i could get my sandwich.
Other reviews are right about the bread *Chef's kiss*. Was totally worth the wait in the cold. I got the #1, finished it and was left satisfied. Big eaters will probably want to buy a side also. I'll definitely come back again to try another!
I get the same thing every time: #4 Grilled Ground Pork Baguette. It's like a giant Vietnamese pork meatloaf that runs across the sandwich, wrapped in a delicious fresh soft baguette! I add extra Sriracha and fresh jalapenos to spice it up a little bit. Good sized portion that's well priced and satisfying.
Updated Review: Finally got to try the pho. I used to only get banh mi from here. Great especially for the price. It will definitely be a winter staple.
Pretty solid banh mi. I got the special which had the cold cut slices. The Deli slices were pretty decent and had good seasoning. The bread was toasted really crunchy to the point it hurt a bit so I might ask for a little less toast next time. It had a bit spice and a fresh cucumber. Could use more pate to add a bit more of that flavor which is something I really miss about a good banh mi. The vietnamese coffee I got was kind of thick and didn't taste great but it definitely had that caffeine kick. Decently priced for new york.
Good food with reasonable price
Cash only. $8 banh mis are delicious and relatively generously sized. The classic and pork are to die for. Viet iced coffee isn’t bad either!
