Banga Korean Cuisine — Kenmore

As a middle-aged, single Korean man who mostly eats out, I take Korean foods very seriously. Banga is as authentic and good as Korean food gets in Boston. I recommend their Soon Tofu soup and Korean-Chinese fried dishes such as Kkanpungki (spicy fried chicken in marinated sauce).

the lbibimbap had ZERO flavor. like it was mostly rice and vegetables. there was barely any meat and it had no flavor too. the scallion pancakes were soggy and lacked flavor as well. will never come here again.

I didn't take a picture of my food but I should have! Excellent service, wonderful food and a great atmosphere. It's everything I ever wanted for a "where the wind goes" adventure. I brought home my leftover japchae and snapped a shot. What I should have done was take a picture of it in all its beauty once it came from the kitchen. By far the best japchae I've had since I've moved to the East Coast. I think I just became a-couple-times-a-month regular. If I lived in Boston, I would be here once a week. I make my own doenjang-jjigae but this place had me so impressed I might try theirs next.

We only got the scallion pancake appetizers, they were delicious, and we'll be coming back for more great food asap! The person who took our takeout order was very nice.

This is a good spot and I do plan on going back. I agree with the reviewers who say they are understaffed but this is par for the course in the restaurant industry nowadays. I came before the lunch rush, when they were loading boxes, and it took about five minutes to see a host and get a table. The menu is comprehensive and covers traditional Korean dishes as well as Korean-Chinese noodle dishes, which seem to be growing in popularity here in the states. I don't know what I ordered, which is sad, because I used to live in Korea. I just know that it had the word "Noon" in the middle of the word. It was supposed to be some kind of fried/crispy chicken dish but was really like a sesame chicken or General Gao's. Ultimately, it was a giant plate of meat. I did not realize that the rice was free so I just got one bowl's worth and didn't get any to go. Were I up on game, I would have gotten the complimentary rice to go. They also served banchan, little pickled appetizers, including kimchi. They weren't bad but some Korean restaurants give you three times the amount & variety. I took half the meat home and had it for brunch the next day. It was supposed to have medium spice when I ordered it but I had to add crushed red pepper to the sweet lemony chicken dish to make it hit the way it was meant to. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes, time permitting -- I work a mile down the road -- and will update my review accordingly. Service was fantastic. The waiter was kind and attentive and tipped me off to the free rice.

Kleines Restaurant in der Nähe der BU. Wir haben an einem Freitagabend zu dritt spontan problemlos einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen kam ziemlich schnell und war sehr lecker. Preise sind okay. Die Portionen könnten etwas größer sein, aber alles in allem trotzdem top.
