This was my first time visiting Babbu and we really enjoyed it. The yea was wonderful, the food was great and we had really warm, friendly service.
Great food... nice atmosphere. I truly enjoy eating here. Bambu Restaurant Black Rice Pudding Dessert is pictured.
This is a post about management, not the food or service both of which are good. For context we’ve been going to Bambu since it opened and during the pandemic we picked up at least once a week there because I wanted to see a local place make it. So tonight my daughter and I went and we both ordered pad see ewe with chicken, mild for her medium for me. Both came out super spicy, great for me, but impossible to eat for her. Mistakes happen and we asked that hers be remade mild as we ordered. When the waiter bright it back (perfectly mild this time) he admitted the kitchen messed up but also told us that the owners told him next time a dish comes out too spicy THEY WILL NOT REMAKE IT. I asked him to repeat that because I couldn’t believe what he just told me. Sure enough, that’s what they said. He even apologized. Hard to imagine a restaurant getting out of sorts about a $12 dish that THEY MESSED UP, and are willing to lose customers over it, but here we are. Too bad—they make a fantastic pad see ewe, but I guess we’ll go to Asian Mint from now on. Can’t risk being forced to pay for and eat a dish we didn’t order. Crazy.
I love hanging out with friends at Bambu. We had fresh conch larb (off menu special) ... so yummy! We also have oyster salad, creamy Pacific Coast oysters tossed in a spicy-citrus dressing with fried onions and garlic. The Pad Kee Mao Boran is always a go-to for me - fresh, thick rice noodles with its aromatic "wok" char. We also have a bottle of 2016 Twommey Merlot, always love exploring their wine menu - very extensive and diverse.
Bambu’s food is exceptional! They have the kindest staff, owners, and the restaurant is spotless. I have never been disappointed with a dish whether dining in or taking out. Best Thai food in the metroplex.
I’ve tried this place craving for good Thai food. It was ok. I don’t think I’ll go back though.
I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was a little kid and the quality of food and service has always been impeccable. Shelley who owns the restaurant is lovely and amazing and always says hi. Please come and get the crying tiger beef and black rice pudding!!
This is a local gem! It’s a bit small, but bright and cheery with a terrific staff. The yellow curry was very thin for my liking but still good. The prices are very fair and we felt very comfortable here. Would love to come back!
