What a waste of time and money. I had the petite filet mignon. I think they cook it sous vide and then finish grilling it. No taste, just awful even with the different toppings. Onion rings! What a joke. Thick and tasteless, French fries looked like they scraped together the leftovers from other customers:) so bad! The only good thing was the wine, but also over priced. They need to get an executive chef in there, not just some cook. Seriously, there are so many other good places in this town and this isn’t one of them.

Sunday brunch is AMAZING! The decor is very bright and inviting with some upscale accents, white tablecloths, open kitchen & live dj. Our server Danielle(?) was gave detailed explanations of the dishes, very attentive and anything we wanted came out FAST. Food was delicious, seasoned well, very nice portions and at least 3 shareable items before we even had entrees, which is impressive for $85 in this area. There are lots of options for cocktails & wine, but I was really surprised to see juice offerings (I had the passionfruit, guava one). I was expecting a stuff atmosphere given the area, but between the dj, decor & diners, it was a total vibe. Valet is right out front but street parking both paid and metered is available if you don't mind a brief walk. Superior service & great food - book a resy here and enjoy yourself! Parking: Valet out front accepts Apple Pay and credit cards. Metered parking is plentiful if you can find an opening and less than a 2minute walk on side streets, there is free street parking.

The service was amazing! Loved the atmosphere! The food was good but very pricey! I would recommend it for special events like birthdays, anniversaries or anytime that you don’t mind spending a few hundred bucks on just a piece of stakes!

Thursday night they play jazz so it ends up being a real pick up scene but other than that they have excellent Chilean sea bass and spinach blue cheese sauteed

Baltaire is a neighborhood restaurant for me, so I've been maybe 25-30 times since it opened both for personal dinners and business, and this is the first time I've felt strongly enough to write a review. Unfortunately, it's not what it was, but this is where popular restaurants turn a profit – they build up a reputation and a clientele, and then nip and tuck at the menu and the quality, and it's starting to show a bit. Ordered a couple of cocktails to start; both were noticeably weak. For the apps, the shrimp cocktail seems to have gone down a grade – definitely chewier than usual – and the tuna in the crispy rice seemed to be a lower grade as well. Decided to stick with the seafood, and the scallops and the lobster risotto were both fine, but nothing spectacular. The quality of the scallops actually seemed to be quite good, but the recipes need help. Just grilled doesn't really do it and imparts a watery unappetizing brown liquid on the plate, and previous forms of the scallop (salsa verde, etc.) just overpowered the scallop. Maybe come up with a different lobster entree and make the scallops with a risotto. We ordered a mac and cheese for our kid, which was to be her meal and was fine, but it was forgotten and didn't come until we were nearly done. (It was comped, which was appreciated and appropriate.) We'd planned on dessert, but weren't really feeling it. Nevertheless, we ordered the pot de creme, as one person at the table eats gluten free and that was the only non-cake-like item on the menu other than the sorbets. It came covered in crumble, which was not mentioned on the menu, is not really a standard preparation of that dessert, and didn't add anything to it anyways. It also wasn't that smooth and is never optimal when you can feel the sugar on your tongue. The rest of the table shared that, and bugged out to Bacio di Latte down the street for desserts for others. As to atmosphere, it also seems like they are kicking off the party atmosphere earlier now. You used to be able to come and have a relatively peaceful meal if you were out before 8pm or so, but now it feels like WeHo-lite in there from 5pm onwards. 3 stars across the board because I know they can still do a good steak (the problem for them is that so can many others in the area now), but maybe it's time to stock of things across the board with respect to service, menu, and prep if the intent is to maintain original standards.
