Delicious bread. If I want a loaf for a special dinner, I make a trip over to Backhaus. My boys love their pretzels. The croissants are also excellent. Served by a friendly and helpful staff. Come and enjoy some delicious bread.

I stumbled upon this place on a friend's recommendation, and oh my, it's a delightful spot. The pastries, bread, and coffee are incredibly tasty. The folks there are very kind and friendly. I recommend it!

Splendid bakery located in downtown San Mateo. Wide selection of bread items such as the country loaf, traditional baguette, and epi baguette, plus many dessert items such as kouign-amann and chocolate croissant are all yummy. Fast and friendly service keeps the long line moving at a decent pace.
