Love ba le- it’s my favorite hoagie in Philly. Their hoagie rolls are phenomenal. I’m only giving 4 stars to the food because I’m grumpy at the shrinkflation happening. Used to be there were 4 meatballs on the hoagie and now there are 4 halves of meatballs… same with the lemongrass pork, smaller pieces and just less in general… I would rather places keep it the same and increase the price. Next time I’ll order extra meat so hopefully it will be like the old days. Also highly recommend the coconut pyramids. They are such a yummy dessert! Contrast of gooey sticky rice dough and the grainy texture of peanuts coconut and sugar crystals. Do not sleep on coming here! Vegetarian options: If you’re vegan/vegetarian, this place has great veg hoagies and snacks and treats, and I don’t think it’s what shows up on google maps when you type in “vegan”. I love the vegan meatball hoagie and the lemongrass pork one the best. There are 4 options for hoagies; a noodle dish you can sometimes get when you walk in (not sure if it’s on take out menu) and veg spring rolls, and a few different snack things and a lot of the chè (drink dessert things)

This place is so good and their bread is so fresh and delicious. Once I got from here I stopped getting them elsewhere because it definitely has a better quality than any other place I’ve had. Plus their sweets are reallly really good and unique

We were recommended this place by a friend and were uncertain what to expect. Walking in we were awestruck by the grocery-type prepared foods and the great selection of sandwiches and drinks. The scene was a little chaotic and we asked where the line started. The counter guy said he didn't know and said we could come down and order with him. We got sandwiches and a bunch of snacks and treats. Everything was delicious and fresh, and very affordable. If there had been seats there I would have tried so many things I'd end up in a coma. I got all vegetarian/vegan foods. Friends reported that the meat offerings were incredibly good as well. Vegetarian options: Tofu and meat substitutes are both pretty tasty.
