I don’t recognise the incredible things said in previous reviews after trying for the first time last night. Food was oily and soggy, overcooked. Quite poor quality for the high amount we paid. Also took over an hour for the main courses to come. In its favour, the place is a nice cosy restaurant with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The place just needs a decent shake up to justify the prices. I hope it happens because it’s got a lot of potential. Some better alternative restaurants nearby.

Decided to give Azzurro a try with a couple of friends, as none of us had been before. In terms of positives, it's nice and cosy inside with a good ambience. The service was reasonably good too. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. My main course was probably the pick of the 3 dishes. I had Sea Bass with Crab Linguine. It was good but not amazing. I was excited to order the Limoncello and Ricotta cheesecake, however it was a very stingy portion. Tasted OK but I've had better. The Coffee was good.

Let me tell you I have travelled the world had lots of fantastic Italian food this little hidden gem wow fantastic the wine beautiful the staff ( family) down to the owner (the chief) amazing best Italian food I have had...and I have Italian friends who can cook...if you want to experience wonderful Italian food honestly go visit this brilliant little restaurant

Wow ,what can i say absolutely amazing the staff the food the restaurant we loved it and will be back one of the best in the North west 100% well recommended

Great night. We were running late but they accommodated the hours delay. Food very nice and a great atmosphere. Chief/owner came out at the end of the night to have a chat which was a nice personal touch. Would recommend to anyone who like Italian food

Really lovely independent, the kitchen is small so food took a little while to come out but the waiter was really honest from the start about this, but definitely worth the wait.
