Avila's El Ranchito

Update: We've grown to enjoy the taco Tuesday's here and look forward to our favorite beef crunchy tacos. The Presidente Margaritas are very tasty and a bargain as well. You might have to wait a few minutes on Tuesdays but the turn over is pretty quick. Love the Avila's chain of restaurants. This particular restaurant is just down the road from my house. Of all the restaurants this one is the smallest I've been to but the most eclectic. Over the years this restaurant has gone through many interior changes and is currently going through another large change. The quality of food is always excellent and the service is spot on. The only complaint I have is they occasionally try and squeeze to many tables into a small area. Last night I had a Cadillac margarita rocks that was excellent due to a strong pour and a tasty mix. My wife enjoyed a standard blended margarita. We both had our favorite for dinner, Mama Avila's soup. The large portion is huge and a complete meal. It includes lots of chicken & rice. Includes side garnish of cilantro, tomatoes, onion, avocado's and flour or corn tortillas. I added a crunchy beef taco. Without a doubt one of my all time favorite meals any time of the year.

The environment was good. You can watch sports there. It was lively service was good. Food was excellent

We were in town on vacation and craving some good Mexican food and this place definitely delivered. We shared a giant mango margarita that was delicious! The steak tacos and steak quesadilla were delicious and our daughter enjoyed her kids meal also. We left very full and very happy. Our server was great also.

First time trying this restaurant. I ordered Camarones ala Diabla no flavor very bland. Beans bland rice very salty. I have to make my own salsa for the shrimp with Ketchup, lemon, salt and the salsa for the chips. The damn chile/salsa for the shrimp was just a bunch of chiles no flavor that was nasty! I’ve been to different places to try the same dish so far this is the worst!!! My husband ordered Tampiqueña what a disappointment bland beans, steak, salty rice and enchilada sauce not good at all. Aside from everything it’s very expensive for trashy dishes! Wow, you must have customers who love bland food and unseasoned but Latinos love FLAVOR!!!
