I almost don’t want to leave a review because this is one of the best kept secrets in Boston! Sushi fish tasted super fresh. Prices are unbeatable. Service is lightening fast. I love getting the salmon lovers special. Gluten free folks beware though, they use tempura crunch on a lot of the maki. There isn’t really anywhere to sit, it’s more of a kiosk with just a few bar seats but perfect for take out! I love it.
Little hole in the wall. Fresh and delicious. Service was fast and pleasant.
I love and adore this place. Yes, it's very much a hole in the wall, and yes it really doesn't have much seating. You'll probably have a better experience here if you order for takeout as most people do. But the sushi here is legit. And the prices really cannot be beat. I'm forever a loyal customer if they keep these prices.
Très bons sushis, endroit très particulier avec un tout petit bar pour manger. Si vous voulez les sushi, prenez les a emporter car c’est très serrer et il n’y a que 4 places. Avana est au fond du couloir pleins d’autres restaurants.
While exploring Chinatown in Boston, we wanted to find an authentic sushi place and even though sushi is Japanese, and we were in Chinatown, we found a great little place! Avana sushi was tucked into unassuming little food court, where three or four other businesses are packed in a small space. There is limited seating, but there is inside seating. There was a bit of a language barrier as the owners wasn’t great, but we got through it! Everything they made was from scratch, and it was amazing! We got there right as they opened and we were the first customers but as we sat there eating our food, the phone didn’t stop ringing and local customers poured in and out nonstop ordering lunch to go which for us as a telltale sign that this is a place that the locals love and that tells you everything you need to know! I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for sushi in Boston! We will be back!
A lot of the shops in this spot have a hole-in-the-wall vibe. Avana Sushi used to be a go-to spot for me because the sushi was decent for the price. Dining in can be uncomfortable, as there are only a few stools around a small stall, so I prefer take-out. However, you can contribute a drawing to the iconic paper plate wall if you sit down. You can’t go wrong with a spicy salmon/tuna maki roll, but I like the special rolls more, specifically the Spicy Red Sox Maki or Spicy Mountain Roll. Grab dessert from the egg puff lady to the right.
Delicious food for the price! Kind staff.
Avana Sushi needs to get off of doordash or update their stuff because I always receive the wrong order. I ordered here again by mistake. I'm so tired.
