We had breakfast here twice and both times were lovely! The ambience is so nice, the food was great, the portions were huge and we had amazing service from Fred! Would not hesitate for a moment to come back. Thank you for some wonderful starts to the day!

Food was subpar at best. Don’t go there for brunch. Also their menu said “all day” food and didnt specify a time, but then when we tried to order, they said it wasn’t till after 11. While this lunch time makes sense, the menu was misleading and it was upsetting having to order from their somewhat limited and meh breakfast menu. They also don’t seem to do substitutions for meals, so what you see is what you get. We asked for butter and syrup because those typically come with toast and French toast. We got weird looks and I’m just a bit shocked it wouldn’t already come with. Also, the server brought a handheld credit card reader and hovered over while my friend was trying to pay, watching both her enter her pin, and feel pressured to pick a tip. Overall, a disappointing experience and we won’t be coming back.

Beautiful restaurant in the perfect location for work lunches/happy hours/etc. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with a side Caesar salad. The sandwich was very good, the perfect amount of spice and the salad was what you’d expect from a Caesar. My only qualm with the sandwich was the texture. The whole sandwich was a bit soggy which made the chicken less crispy. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch and would definitely visit again!

My partner and I have visited before and were pleasantly surprised to find a nice place in the loop for a bite to eat and a drink. Yesterday, we came back with an hour to spare before Aida at The Lyric. The host sat us down provided a menu and glasses of water. The restaurant was half-full with professional types and hotel guests. No server came to take our order. Actually, there was no server in sight or managers. We waited for 20 minutes before the bartender acknowledged and informed us they would be with us shortly. Ten minutes after that we decided to leave, hungry and frustrated. The hostess didn’t even acknowledge us, she didn’t seem to care. Don’t come here if you’re short on time or hungry. Such a shame.

Staying at the hotel so popped down for breakfast. Omelette and home fries were decent but the service was weak - waitress didn’t bring cream or spoons for the coffee, so we borrowed cream from a neighbouring table and I stirred with a butter knife. When we asked for spoons they brought tablespoons, which was good for a chuckle at least. Atmosphere is fine, being on a busy corner in a historic building. The person at the table next to us said it is a far cry from its days as the dining room for the Burnham.

Breakfast sandwich was outstanding! Not cheap of course but totally hit the spot, and the restrooms were clean.

My friend and I made a reservation on a Tuesday night as I love the building and history behind it and was really excited to go there. We walked in to the bar area as we didn’t see the host stand that is not at the entrance. It’s around the corner and if there was signage pointing us to it we did not see it. There were 2 people sitting at the bar and every table was empty. The bartender did not bother to acknowledge us at all so we walked around until we saw the host stand. Our server sat us at a small 2 person table. There was a larger table and I asked if we could sit there so we could have more room as again, there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Our server got visibly upset and told us that table was for larger parties, which I completely understand but again… no one else was there. So we sat at the small table and ordered our dinner. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese, thinking, how can that not be delicious? Well the truffle was only in the breadcrumbs on top and the mac and cheese had no flavor at all. It was in a very thin, soupy sauce. Really unfortunate as the building itself is absolutely gorgeous and the history behind it is amazing. And just one other single diner came in while we were there to eat. Another server just dropped off our check without even asking if we wanted another drink or dessert or anything… I wanted it to be a better experience but unfortunately it was not.
