Very disappointed in the food at Atlantic Grill. Took my family (5) last night (3/17/24) celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday and while the cocktails were great, and the service and ambience was really good the food was a huge and very expensive disappointment! The sushi was very small in size of the rolls and sushi pieces and the seafood Paella ($49) was awful, two very tiny slices of sausage, shrimp, and fish tasteless (we asked for extra shrimp to replace scallops and got 2 shrimps), rice was undercooked and small portion for such a high price. We have always loved Atlantic Grill, was a staple for us when on the UES. We still go there for special occasions but unfortunately, we will not be going back anytime soon.
Oh wow… what a great evening! Short version: This was a wonderful combination of fine dining and excellent service! Long version: We had dinner prior to a Met Opera and we enjoyed every bit of it. The food was phenomenal and the service: I would regard this as one of the best service experiences in a long long time. Example: In the US, you get the dreaded “assigned” waiter, who is either good or not, you have no say so. Need another wine? Need anything extra, you typically have to wait for the waiter to trundle along, since others are just performing supporting tasks. Not so at the Atlantic Grill! I would rate it “European” service experience. You want another Martini/wine/side dish, you can just ask anyone and: voila! The requested item is being brought to your table. Sorry for the long explanation: but good/fine food is not quite uncommon these days. But over the top service? Not so often. The Atlantic Grill excels in both categories! It will be our go-to place from now on prior to The Met : ) Bon Appetite!
Lovely atmosphere, good food, great service.
We came early for a drink, but weren't allowed to sit at the bar. I was not impressed with their cocktail list, or the server's ability to tell me what whiskey or bourbon was available after not having Maker's Mark (no, I don't want to know what Scotch you have...) The good thing was that the scallops were great. I would try somewhere else for dinner next time. Dietary restrictions: Not fantastic with gluten and dairy free. I got some good gf bread, but then it was served with butter.
I don’t know why this place has such a rating. The food was mediocre. The bread soggy and stale, the curry shrimp bland and rice dry and tasted microwaved. The cheesecake was soapy. Save $180 and go eat elsewhere
