*Cash only* Had to try the Whittier unique tacos from Arturos Puffy Taco. Theyve been around for over 45 years and their ground beef and asada puffy tacos are awesome. Also had to try their mexican dog, a fried hotdog rolled in a taquito and covered in guac sauce. Both were really good, the crunch of the taco went well with the ingredients inside. Will be back again when im in the area
Okay the shell on the taco was totally awesome but lack of flavor on the meats. The salsa also didn't have flavor. We got the red mild. My wife got the steak and she said it was a little tough. I got the carnitas and it could have been more flavorful we drove from Covina and it's not a place where we where? Oh yeah let's go back sorry
Saw this place on social media and I had to try the Puffy Tacos. I drove up from San Diego and only ordered 2 tacos. I ordered a carne asada taco and ground beef taco. I really like the consistency of the shell, it was like a chalupa texture and tasted like Indian Fry bread. I've been looking for something like that for quite a while and that was really the closest place from San Diego. The total price was around $7, we also ate the tacos on the tables outside.
One of my favorite tacos, 5 tacos, ohpps I meant stars. So my experience has been very fulfilling (no pun intended), allow me to explain: on any visit in the late spring or summer you can enjoy the California Dream... Tasty waves, tasty babes... Wait what the heck this is the future so let's behave and be all proper for the pictures... So Whittier Blvd was this American Graffiti revolution that was the equivalent of social media and it had something to do with connection or finding the " FOODIE OR FOODY " place, and I suppose it was cooking a good meal that was very important? This place really works on their recipe, my only complaint is source, because there is no longer a local butcher shops or bakers near by... HOWEVER!!! these guys find a way to make a really good meal with what the distributors provide as frozen. Anyone would say, if you can make it better, make it yourself, share the recipe or open your own restaurant. Enjoy these wonderful establishments, and tomorrow will be another day, these are the good'ol days
Tried for first time after seeing them on localism, operated taco shell wasn't puff but more like crumbly, Masada was greasy and hard taquitos was alright.
Best taco! Friendly service.
