Glows: Server was attentive and friendly. He took our orders and they were executed as ordered. High tea was excellent. Ascend Tea blend was flavorful and pleasant. Deserts were delicious (especially the chocolate tart!) Lows: Service: We arrived at 1:30 for our 1:30 reservation. Hostess greeted me by mentioning I was early and they needed time to get ready. Food: House made bacon lacked flavor and was over cooked. Medium rare sirloin was tough and unseasoned. Highly disappointed with it. The blueberry bread was dry and lacked flavor. Crab deviled eggs were bland and hardly tasted like it included authentic Maryland crab. The sangria tasted bitter. Overall experience: I only recommend the High Tea.

We met friends for lunch here. There was very little on the menu for vegetarians and nothing for vegans. I asked the server if she could recommend something vegan and she said the Greek salad without the cheese, a sandwich without most of the fillings, or plain spaghetti. I asked if she could check with the chef (it wasn't busy in there at that time) and she was reluctant and said that the chef wouldn't be able to help. We ordered our drinks and when she came back to take our food order she said she'd checked with the chef and he'd recommended the spaghetti without any sauce etc. I was pretty shocked tbh as I've had more helpful suggestions virtually everywhere I've eaten and this was the best that this restaurant in the heart of DC could offer. I ordered the Greek salad. It said it came with chickpeas. There were four chickpeas! The dressing was pretty tasty but the rest of the salad was really underwhelming (to say the least). The server really didn't seem to care. I can't see any reason to go back here again. Vegetarian options: Very few apart from salad Dietary restrictions: Very few meals to accommodate dietary restrictions and the menu wasn't marked gf, vegan, etc

My dog got The Hungry Dawg (grilled and sliced sirloin) and Peanut-Banana Pupsicles (miniature frozen treats)! He loved them! I enjoyed drinking their COMO LA FLOR which was so good

The food did not really have that southern soul taste. The potatoes were really good. The hostess was very very nice.

Went for brunch reservation during a festival day. Service was a little slow but the food, especially the Greek Yogurt Bowl, was delicious. Slightly more expensive than I wanted but to be expected so near the Smithsonian.

This place is phenomenal! The food, the atmosphere and, the staff. The host was very gracious and patient with me and my party. The chicken and Waffles S-L-A-P! I will definitely come back and I highly recommend!!

Was hoping for more. Menu seemed great. Food was fine but not great. Service left something to be desired. I got a half cup of warmish coffee and was promised more but had to ask for it when I was almost done with my meal because that's the next time I even saw my server. For the price would have expected more. There are better options

We've been here twice and both times it's been disappointing. The first was a very mediocre brunch for Mother's Day, which we chalked up to a challenging day. Today we also had brunch; the food was good and the server was trying her best, but one of the dishes came out a good 20 minutes after the others (there was a mix-up in the kitchen). This was on top of us waiting over 30 minutes for our table despite a reservation because of an issue with their CC processing machines. We were a little surprised to not get any kind of offer to comp a drink or anything. On top of that, we noticed afterwards that the billing system seemed to miscalculate the tip; we selected a 20% tip, but the receipt seems to show a 22% tip. Not sure what to make of that, but definitely not something we've seen before.
