I love their Dutch Chocolate Torte so we made a special trip thinking we’d get lunch and get some cake. We were told the kitchen was being renovated so no lunch. Just a bit disappointed since the website advertises salads and sandwiches. We took the cake home and it was kind of dry. Seemed like maybe it had been in the freezer for awhile. I’ve always loved this place and was expecting more. Hopefully this was a one time experience and it will be better next time.
The last few loaves of Italian Ciabatta Bread that were bought at Meijer in Battle Creek were over baked and dry Very disappointing in my favorite bread
The picture shown is supposed to be the inner filling of the cake. There was none. The outside frosting was so thin you could see the actual cake in places around the outside. The cake itself was lopsided. The frosting left a gross film. Never again. Arnies is going downhill...and fast.
Horrible people closed early on a Saturday then came to door and laughed that they where closed.
Came in just for a dozen Donuts, they were decadent and delicious. Fast and friendly staff. Be aware that all the donuts are cake batter donuts if you’re looking for more basic recipes. Parking was confusing for us. Parking: Could only find parking directly in front of the shop which was difficult, had to do a couple laps around the blocks to find parking and then had to come down the street the correct direction to even grab one of the few spots. Maybe we missed some signs for better parking but we struggled for sure.
Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I had did not read the recent Google reviews about Arnie's. We had expectations of the Arnies of old, and ordered a cake for pickup for the 23rd of December to have for Christmas Eve. The cake was dry, not very good. Like something you'd buy that had been sitting on the shelf at the grocery store for a few days in the bakery area. Not a cake that you ordered special from Arnie's to celebrate a holiday. Would never order from them again.
Great donuts, cake, and service.
