**Edit** All locations are permanently closed... I am rating off of the service and meat. I would ding them on the sauce, but it's Knoxville, so I'll give them a pass. The pulled pork had a nice bark and smoke ring. Good flavor, almost tasted like they used cherry wood. The ribs were OK. Not a lot of meat, but they were tender. I am a Memphis boy, and I prefer a muddy rib. These are a dry rub. The spicy pimento cheese.. slap yo momma! The hush puppies were good. Not the best I have had, but definitely a solid choice. The Memphis sauce. It's not. It's too thin, sour and lacks smoke. It's OK, but definitely not a true Memphis sauce. The Monster sauce. That's where the money is. The other 4 or 5 are vinegar base and too sour for my taste. The slaw was meh. The mac-n-cheese is really good. Overall it's the best Knoxville bbq I have tried. To date. Pros: Friendly staff, good food Cons: Limited seating, pricy, $50 for 2, Memphis sauce is not Memphis.. LOL
Very expensive. Poor customer service but food was ok
Food was AMAZING! Tried a couple sampler plates and appetizers. The dip sampler appetizer was delicious with the spicy crackers. Brisket was really good! Loved all of the sauce choices. We sat outside which was too noisy with the road so close. Inside could use some sprucing up - but you cannot beat the food!
Not a good experience today in my effort to get takeout. It started with entering the back parking lot which for some reason is 75% blocked making the small entrance/exit dufficult to maneuver with two cars. Once inside I quickly saw it would be a mess as well. One lone girl working the register, serving a big party inside, others outside and emptying the trash. I wasn't inspired that the kitchen was being run any better and simply was not up for the wait or taking a chance on mediocre food, so I simply left. Maybe it would've been amazing (and it has been pretty good before)..but I took my business elsewhere and probably won't be back anytime soon. This town is blessed with bbq spots so there is not a lot of room for error, IMO. UPDATE 4/16/22: Sad to say that not much has changed or improved. Tried to do dinner today and another disaster. Cashier was on the phone while line to order was to the door. Finally gave up bc I could see the poop show it was gonna be. Trying to exit the back park lot to N. Chilhowee and even that was a debacle. Couldn't turn bc light at intersection was red and cars were backed up to the 12 foot egress of park lot. IF they did not have the stupid railroad ties blocking 3/4 of park lot, you could still easily exit behind standing traffic. Stupid, stupid, STUPID. Glad Buddy's BBQ is 5 mins away. 10/22/23: Still under-staffed. Line 5 deep to order and ONE person answering phone and taking orders. This place cannot survive like this.
Best BBQ around, make sure to visit on Saturday when they have their amazing brisket. Chicken salad is delicious
Best BBQ in Knoxville beef brisket very good! Can't wait to go back.
