This is pure deception. To sum it up, it was $90 per person for $30 quality food. My friends and I came here during the “Chicago restaurant week” for the $59 Omakase set…it turned out to be a total disappointment. The 6 nigiris were all horrible, the fish is “supermarket shelf” quality, the rice is cold without vinegar and wasabi (the typical rice for Omakase should be body temperature to ensure its taste and should be seasoned mildly with vinegar and wasabi )…their chef explained that “they are trying to make Omakase more accessible for the broader audience. But if you are not serving food of omakase quality, do not call it Omakase!
The restaurant week menu was boring and overpriced. The nigiri was just your basic fishes. For the price point, the service should be better. I was trying not to get my plate taken away as I was eating my last bite but then the wait to the next course was at least 20 minutes. If you order an omakase, it should come with an experience but they didn’t even bother to explain what was on the plate. Disappointing all around.
The experience was outstanding overall. The miso soup and the bowl of mushrooms stood out as culinary masterpieces, both of which were absolutely exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant contributed significantly to the enjoyment, complemented by the attentive and knowledgeable service that guided our culinary choices. I am particularly eager to revisit for another serving of the exquisite bowl of mushrooms.
Good service with friendly staff. However, the quality of the food needs improvement. The omakase option for restaurant week was below expectations: nigiris were generic and anemic. Miso soup was very salty. Only good parts of the pre-set menu were the mushroom stir-fry and panna cotta dessert.
For the price, not worth it
Seated right away. Menu was priced fairly, not overwhelming or incomplete. All text and no photos put my memory of what I do and don't like to the test. We were first timers at the restaurant and when told the server that, so we expected an introduction with the house specialties or the chef's perspective. Didn't get anything like that. Miso soup was delicious. My date loved the bowl of buttered mushrooms. Crab roll was just ok,
We loved everything about Arami! We were celebrating our honeymoon and decided to try Omakase for the first time. We had no complaints; the courses were amazing, the service was incredible and they made us feel so special! They even customized our menu to congratulate us on our honeymoon. Definitely an experience we won’t forget!
Helpings we're on the smaller side. Wasn't impressed with the food for the price.
Brought My parents here from the suburbs for my moms bday dinner and I couldn’t have had a better experience. From the minute we walked in, the staff was unbelievable hospitable. Our sever was so sweet and the food was truly incredible. It was unbelievably fresh. Every single thing we got was so good. Couldn’t recommend more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
