Applebee's Grill + Bar

Food was good service was good

We walked in, got a quick hello and was told wait to be seated, even though it wasn't busy, however we were seated relatively quickly But, loads of booths had plates sitting there the whole time we were there, which was over an hour. Our waitress was on top of things, but it looked like the rest of the staff didn't bother clearing some tables. She was quite friendly and easy to talk to. Food was so-so, not the best or worst at Applebee's. The letdown was the $20 bourbon street steak—it looked like something you'd find at Walmart, not worth the price. If I knew the mediocrity of the steak I would’ve just went to Walmart and bought myself a steak and pan fried it myself. Overall: ★★★☆☆

Very limited staff which made wait times longer. People who were 4 couples in front of us were told 20 minutes and had been there for 40 already. A lot of empty tables in areas that had servers. But they were left empty. We walked out after 20 minutes and went to Hacienda. Where there was also a wait but we were seated immediately in the bar. Which wasn't even an option at Applebee's. Won't be returning used to really like it. But it's went downhill the last few years.

Came out for a quick bite with friends tonight for my birthday and the whole experience was just awful. We waited for 10 minutes to be acknowledged by an employee to be seated and it wasn’t busy nor were they under staffed. Once seated we ordered our drinks and appetizers and asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. Another server brought our drinks and 25 minutes later we finally see our server again when she brought our appetizers out that were cold. We ate them without complaint because we were all hungry. She then took our orders and disappeared again. We’re waiting on food so I step out to my vehicle to grab something I needed only to discover they hung signs on the out side of the doors saying they closed early because they were low on lots of food items and had locked the doors. So here I am out side stuck because they didn’t notify anyone in the building they were doing this and my phone is in the restaurant on the table beside where I was setting. A nice lady is finally leaving after about 15 minutes of me trying to get anyone’s attention to get in the building and lets me back in. I had also found this odd because when our server took our orders she only told us that they were out of fry’s. We all ordered the exact same meal and all 4 plates came out very hot and fresh but unfortunately if you just can’t cook ya just can’t cook. They meat was extremely over seasoned and we the waffle fry’s were extremely over cooked. The restaurant was not clean and most of the employees working front of house were on their phones a lot . All in all worst Applebees exp I’ve ever had:

Twice I called to confirm that they were honoring half price apps on a Saturday night. Twice I was told that they do. Yet once I showed up in the restaurant, I was told that half price apps do not apply on a Saturday night. It was the only reason we went out that late at night. AWFUL SERVICE!

The food is fresh and tasty. Service is excellent! View of the Eel River.
