Antonio's Restaurant

They used to be good but I heard it's under new ownership now. Who puts lemon in a steak dish? Nasty!

First time at Antonio's, went with my brother who used to live in Portugal and he was just over the moon with the quality and authenticity of the food, I had lamb shanks that were on special for the night they were magnificent, tender, perfectly cooked. With a beautiful salad that came with my meal, also an extensive wine list. The food was exceptional( the cod fish cakes were like little fluffy clouds of crispy deliciousness)and our server Deborah was a pleasure. I'm a very picky person when it comes to dining out, I worked in fine dining for over 20 years and Antonio's is the 1st N.B. restaurant that I would consider truly exceptional,for its quality affordability and excellent service

We made a special trip to New Bedford for Portuguese food and this place didn't disappoint. We talked about it for days. The service was great and the portions huge. Can't wait to go back. Parking: Parking lots right across the street or right next door. Wheelchair accessibility: If there was a ramp to get in we couldn't find it

This place has really gone down hill. The food is just not very good and the service is terrible have to flag down a waitress. I use to like the expresso martini but that's not even good anymore. Steak quality is not very good. I was very disappointed that past few times I visited. I do like the little necks that has to be my favorite thing they have and the only reason I come in. They need to change up the menu! It's been the same forever.

Lots of food

Went today for my very first time. I wasn’t sure if we should sit at a table or the bar. The bar tender Amanda smile and greeted us immediately so we sat at the bar. Her and John were fantastic staff attentive, kind, and very thoughtful. The place was very clean and the food was great. We couldn’t decide on dessert because they all sounded amazing so we got 3 and they were beyond delicious The restaurant also had tons of parking which is rare for New Bedford. We had a great time from start to finish we definitely will return.

New Bedford is synonymous with seafood & all things Portuguese. Antonio’s is the epitome of both. I’ve eaten here over the years countless times when I was a resident. Now, when I visit, it’s one of my first stops. My all-time Antonio’s favorite is their paella. I’ve never had one that was less than stellar. Their portion sizes are crazy huge! Their paella-for-one is enough for two fully-grown adults. It’s chockfull of lobster, littlenecks, shrimp, chicken, beef & scallops. The diners seated near me on my most recent visit even commented on how huge it was. Lol! Another favorite of mine is their grilled swordfish. It’s super fresh (the fishing docks are a hop, skip and a jump away) and seasoned and grilled to perfection. I could eat this stuff everyday! Antonio’s also has a full bar for those of us so inclined…and I’m VERY inclined. Lol! Drinks are stiff and of good size, unlike many other restaurants that serve alcohol. Service, while friendly, is a bit too laidback. In other words, they could do with a little formal training. Brush up on their professionalism. Serving is a profession after all. All in all, I highly recommend Antonio’s for those searching for authentic New England seafood/Portuguese cuisine.
