Good staple food, great staff... fantastic environment.
Amrheins Restaurant is a true Boston landmark with a rich history and timeless charm. From its iconic neon sign to its warm and welcoming interior, stepping inside feels like taking a step back in time. The menu boasts classic American fare with a touch of New England flair, featuring dishes made with the freshest local ingredients. Whether you're craving a hearty seafood chowder or a juicy steak, Amrheins never disappoints.
Great stop, good fun, good service with fun atmosphere. A modern space but you can still feel that it's really old.
Don't skip out on this while visiting South Boston. I passed it several times thinking is looked kind of run down outside. It's an absolutely beautiful restaurant/bar inside. The service was amazingly good and food was exceptional. Kid-friendliness: Very spacious location where kids can be kids. There were several young ones dancing to the Irish music tonight and we were so entertained.
Do you love brunch? Do you love parking in southie? Well this place has both! I had creme brulee french toast ("for the table") and it was absolutely delish and maybe I didn't ACTUALLY share it with the table. The custard between the layers of French toast were so good I could have eaten way more and I'm not really a sweet food person (full disclosure I just worked out so maybe I was hungrier than otherwise). My friends had more traditional full actual breakfasts (eggs and meats and potatoes and what have you) which they also enjoyed. My mimosa was fine, and my espresso martini was also fine (I prefer without Bailey's so just a preference thing). Apparently it's the same food as a now defunct diner from the area that is now condos (I know southie is cleaner now but I miss the real people and older kinda rundown parts that gave it character instead of the yuppie kids who run amuck now a days but I digress) but all I know is it was amazing and there was free off street parking so I'll be back. Yummy. Mmmmmm.
