Don't underestimate this Taiwanese restaurant inside an Exxon gas station. With cheap coffee on the counter, a few no frills tables inside, the staff know what they are doing. The menu is filled with authentic food from those found in night markets in Taiwan to bento boxes. Stopping inside on a Saturday evening around 6 p.m., there was a healthy flow of customers. Order on a screen by the register and your food can be packaged for takeout or you can stay there and make use of the many sauces on the counter. Making a rookie mistake, my wife, seven-year-old daughter, and I each order our own entree. The portions are so big that we could have gotten two and be content. Everything we got was excellent and fresh. The fried rice with chicken was a favorite. The pork dumplings with a garlic sauce and the Taiwan noodles were a hit too. So good! They sell drinks, but they also have cups for free water and ice.
Such a fun experience to eat great Taiwanese food in a random gas station! We were very lucky there were seats available when we arrived. Food was pretty authentic, so surprised!!
People are nice. Taste is good. But consider what you get, this restaurant is quite expensive! One of the dishes we ordered was a $16 Garlic Pork Belly. The portion was quite small and did not come with rice. If you wanted rice, that's $2 extra. I don't recall any other Chinese restaurant I went to that charged rice separately. Likely will not go again.
Amore Eats is a hidden gem inside a gas station, serving up surprisingly delicious dishes. The server was incredibly friendly, and the beef noodle soup and stinky tofu were amazing. The sausage with sticky rice was okay, but the sausage had a weird burnt taste. Overall, it’s a unique spot worth exploring for tasty surprises.
Horrible food, the soup is luke warm and has no flavor, the stinky tofu is dry, I never had tofu like that. Will not be coming back again.
This is indeed the best Taiwanese restaurant in DMV area. We ordered 卤肉饭, 盐酥鸡,大肠包小肠,and 卤猪蹄. We enjoyed all of them, especially 盐酥鸡(popcorn chicken). It's by far the best I have had in DMV area including Yen's Kitchen. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes!
