Okay, in the blind. We are traveling from a funeral. Exit 69 on I-65 is a regular overnight stop. Tonight, we attempted the Sportsman Grill. Unfortunately, neither of us can tolerate smoke or even the hint of a fireplace. We drove a block further and found Amerigo Italian. This is NO Olive Garden. It is a trip to excellent Italian fare. The Carbonara was egg yoke "gravy" thick and sticks to the pasta in every bite. The Gemelli and sausage with vodka tomato sauce needs to be served with a straw... so you won't get caught licking the plate. The pre meal bread, dipping oil, sets you up for a leisurely meal. DO NOT rush, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Rebecca was professional, conversational, and thoroughly knew the menu options. FIVE stars to her. Amerigo is now a planned stop on our next trip.
Order to go was cold. Even though we got there before it was ready. Super salty. I got a shrimp ceasars salad that wasn't cut up. Huge pieces of lettuce. Tortellini. And soup of the day. By the time I prepared my dinner and started eating. I found pieces of dirt or grit in my 5th bite. I'm expecting food poisoning here soon. Waste of $.
