We just took our daughters to the American Girl store in NYC for our youngest's birthday. The store was beautiful, like many others said, almost like a museum. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn't have an appt for the salon however they were able to squeeze us in when my daughter decided she wanted her dolls hair done. She came out looking better than new, definitely worth the 20 bucks. We ate lunch at the cafe and I have to admit, given that it's a store geared to children, I had little expectations for how good the food was going to be. I was so pleasantly surprised. The tiered plates of apps had something for everyone. Fruit, cucumber bites topped with seasoned cream cheese, meatballs and fried ravioli (which were quite good). The kids had chicken fingers and fries which are basic but they enjoyed them. My husband and I had the burger and I have to say one of the best burgers I've had. And I am picky. I was worried the pretzel bun may be too thick or tough but it was perfect. Soft to the bite but dense enough to hold up to the juices of the burger. The sauce on the burger was also delicious and the bites of tomatoes added to the flavor profile. The meal ended with a cup of chocolate mousse which the kids really enjoyed. All in all would highly recommend. And 3 courses at $27 a person can't be beat. Especially in Manhattan.
Fabulous store for my grandaughter. In Chicago I used to take my daughter to the store and now she passes her dolls to hers.
Un choix indescriptible de poupées et accessoires.
We had the best time at American Girl! It was an early birthday treat for my daughter and between walking around the store, cafe birthday lunch, and picking out a birthday gift she had such a great time and will hopefully be a happy childhood memory!
This place is out off this world! Be prepared for 2 hrs easy in this store , great service, very clean , very well organized a lot of toys or dolls
My family has been visiting American Girl in both of its NYC locations for fifteen years. My daughters bring their dolls to the beach and on vacation. My youngest daughter chose a special doll at the grand opening of the location situated at the north end of Rockefeller Center. She is asking to celebrate her twelfth birthday at the cafe this spring.
