Amazing food and ambiance
The dinner was spectacular, and the waitstaff were courteous and attentive. I've been working in the neighborhood for 20 years, and this is hands down at the top of the list of my favorite NYC restaurants. I wish I found this restaurant years ago.
Wonderful service, caring and good menu.
December 2023. Amata has survived and is doing ok! They still have all the same servers who are the best! The food is still delicious & the quality is great!. And the owner is always present. And they will accommodate U if you wish a different pasta or sauce if they have it in stock. Great Italian food. Delicious fish!
Put simply, my wife and I really like Amata. We are not followers of "trendy," nor is "popular" enough of a reason for our frequent patronage. We return because the food is consistently excellent, the decor is attractive but not overwhelming, and the background volume level is appropriate for conversation, which makes this a place to take friends, family, and even business associates. The owner comes from a restaurant family, and he has the experience and intuition to know what works, especially in this location. Importantly, the red sauce and cheese are of high quality and flavor, and they know the meaning of "al dente." We live in the neighborhood, and Amata is an asset to the community.
Very attentive. Acknowledged our family when we first walked in. Continued to check in on us. Complimentary biscotti with dessert. Happy Holidays!
Absolutely the best Italuan food we have had for some time. We had the lasagna and papperdelle, which were excellent. The atmosphere is great and the serving staff were outstanding. Highly recommend trying this restaurant.
