Amala Joint Restaurant

It's a restaurant so the most important food, taste definitely 4 stars. I want to guess it's under new management because the photo that comes up is pretty much the place, except not much going on. Service only one person there so that should say everything. Atmosphere, definitely better for take out. Fridge empty, shelves empty.. like a business just starting up. But again, it's a restaurant and the food was great!!

Mrs. Ade gave excellent service and the food was extremely good! Ordered Okra and Egusi.

You cannot go off the prices you see online you want to ask them the price over the phone . the designers soup is always on point..the Eugusi is usually good but make sure you clarify if you want your meat tough or not .this time it was a struggle to eat the meat. I wasn't sure if it really was goat or beef but overall good food.

Loook the food is amazing & delicious!! Me & My girl love the food here. Ask for ade! She is friendly always gives good portions. U want good naija food? U come here bro. I really dislike leaving bad reviews but I had to because this restaurant owner (Adeline) needs to be exposed. After wanting African food I came across Amala joint on Google read the reviews and decided to give this place a try which was a big mistake the reviews must be fake! I drove from across town 45-50 min to get there. First red flag no one was there the restaurant was completely empty the employee was sitting at one of the tables watching tv with her young daughter. She didn’t greet me which was the second red flag I said hello politely and proceed to walk ahead and look on the menu that’s placed towards the front on the wall I ordered my food and left. Opened the bag no food cultery or napkins had to go back in and get eating utensils third red flag Anyway once I started to eat the food it taste a bit old but I try to ignore it thinking it was just in my head and kept eating it towards the end of the night my stomach went to hurting and I got heart burn real bad. I ordered the Jollof rice and fish efo riro and pounded yam and plantains. I only ate some of the Jollof rice and all the fish and one plaintain so bc of my upset stomach i never had a chance to eat the other food. I contacted the store and was told to contact the owner Adeline I called her she immediately got defensive and told me to just send her my receipt of the order once I did she said she’ll be in contact with me but never did get back to me after 24 hours I reached back out to her via text she responded she wld get back to me after her church service but again she never did all these red flags I lost count by now so once I reached out to her again via text and told her I wouldn’t want to go through my bank to get my refund but I would if I had to because at this point it’s obvious she’s avoiding me she finally called my phone and again in defense mode wouldn’t let me talk talking over me etc once everything was said from her she ended the conversation with didn’t you say you would contact your bank to get your money just go through your bank I’m sorry I can not give you your money back. Please be very careful at this place the reviews are fake and that’s why this place is empty right now because of the poor service and quality of food that’s being served. If I could give 0 stars I would. You don’t treat your customer in this manner all because of a dollar bill. You will never prosper this way!!! Your establishment will eventually be closed because of how you run your business!! You tried to make it hard for me to get my money back but I will get my money back through my bank!!!
