Loved the chicken katsu. The mini plate was huge!
Edited: I gave Aloha Eats a second try after Isabel reached out to me. Very happy with the service I received and will definitely be coming back. I went in at 5pm and ordered a spam musubi. I did not get my single order of spam musubi until 5:30pm. If anyone knows what a spam musubi is, you will know that it is essentially spam on top of a bed of rice (which I've been told is already pre-made). I sat and watched two people who ordered AFTER me, receive their full entree-sized meals BEFORE me. Once I received my order, the spam was overcooked and not the usual quality that I am used to at this establishment. Julie, the person at the register (long curly haired individual), did not offer an explanation as to why my order was so late. I realize there is a sign stating how there are longer wait times due to having a smaller kitchen, but there is absolutely no reason why a single order of spam musubi would take 30 minutes and be out later than several entree meals without any explanation or an apology.
Big fan of this restaurant, but please get rid of the styrofoam packaging. I’ve had orders burn through the styrofoam and no one wants to eat styrofoam leached food. Been eating here for years and love the food though!
The portions are great and food quality is excellent. Unpretentious, wholesome food. The BBQ chicken plate with steamed veggies and rice is so good and healthy.
Undercooked pork!! And missing items for delivery
Love love LOVE aloha eats. One of my favorite food places in the whole city I also recommend it. My go to is the chicken katsu, sometimes a combo with shrimp. The chicken is insane and the katsu sauce is so good. The mac salad is amazing and every meal comes with a scoop of that and rice. The portions are big. It's not cheap but for the food you get it justifies the price. If I ever want a little pick me up treat I always go there. If you've never tried Hawaiian food check it out ! I can not recommend it enough
i absolutely loved this place!! i’ve never had hawaiian food and let me tell you this place set the standard! the loco moco was delicious and creamy, while the spam katsu musubi was the perfect balance of crunchy, salty, and savory. i’d recommend this to anyone! the service was also incredible and quick.
This is by far my girlfriends favorite restaurant in Chicago. Nothing compares to the food here. It is phenomenal. This is the type of restaurant you need to design a trip around. Yes it is that good. The chicken katsu is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted and their macaroni salad, oh lord, amazing. As someone who has lived in Chicago, you must go here.
