Alaska Salmon Bake

Their new menu and services is very good

It’s been a few years since our visit. And in years past we have enjoyed the Salmon bake. We went yesterday and realized the menu and format is different, which was okay. But then we get in line for the salad bar and that is where things went down hill. The iceberg lettuce they had out needed to be thrown away, fortunately there was a second tray with somewhat better looking lettuce. The one dressing had a couple of dead flies which was disgusting, I get that it is outside, but goodness cover things up. The rolls were like eating Sheetrock (zero moisture), and poor flavor, again cover things up. Now onto the sides, the potatoes were dryer than a popcorn fart, the stuff they called Mac and cheese was more like paste, and had zero flavor. The drink station was inundated with bees. Let me pause and say that All of these comments are not an exaggeration, but a true fact. The salmon was very dry and the halibut was very greasy. At $35 a person. Our group was very disappointed. We had eaten at the pump House the night before and we had a wonderful experience. So if you are going to spend that kind of money by all means, go to the pump house. With our group size we had an expensive bill, and after last night our group agreed that we will never go back.

I had high hopes about this salmon bake from reading about it online but was pretty disappointed after eating here. I didn't really care for the set up where you had to go get your meal in segments like salad first....a while later- sides...then- main entree. CO2 was out on both drink machines. Roll and butter were cold. Salmon had no flavor. Spent more money than I would have liked to for sub-par experience. Disappointed. :(

Delicious food in a fun and relaxing environment. We went on the last day of the season to enjoy prime rib

Not a good place to go. Food was terrible, not fresh at all. Food not covered thus dead’s flies and bees in salad bar and sauce station. We visit family and have been there a few times and in the past it was good stuff. But not this time. I don’t think we will go back.

Halibut was over cooked. Fishy tasting halibut I have ever had. Patatoes,mac-n-cheese were cold. Best part of the meal was the salad bar. Parking: Handicap accessible but not handicap convenient for older folks to get to the restaurant.
