My family's favorite restaurant. Actually, we would eat there everyday if my wife had her way. Every dish screams authentic Japanese. Scrumptious. Owner Dean who tends the sushi bar serves nothing but the freshest fish. Outstanding variety of fish. I'm from Hawaii and I cannot live without fish. A match made in heaven. WE LOVE AKI. Thank you Dean and staff. See you soon. The Kahaleuahi family from Maui.
Best sushi in the LA area. I'm Japanese and trust me, you won't be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: Great service, always!
I endured a disheartening 20-minute wait at the entrance without any staff reaching out. When I finally engaged with them, I was informed that two tables ahead of me required attention, and I was asked to wait longer, despite being a solo diner. The restaurant, with a 60% vacancy, left me puzzled as to why I couldn't be accommodated at the bar. To compound matters, staff members were seen smiling and attending promptly to other customers, highlighting the inconsistency in service. Their impatience and disregard for my situation added to the overall frustration of an already trying day, nearly bringing me to tears.
Authentic Japanese food that really hits the spot. Friendly service, large portions, and delicious food. My husband and I love Aki, and although we’ve moved to a neighborhood farther away, we will keep coming back!
Came here twice whilst staying in LA for a few days. The food is excellent. Family Run restaurant. We didn't book and managed to sneak a table but would reccomend booking. The Gyoza's and Sushi were brilliant. 100% would go again when back in LA.
This is the quintessential family run restaurant and you can tell. Service is friendly and personable. The food may take a hot minute but it tastes amazing and there's a warm cozy atmosphere every time. My in-laws have been coming here since their first date and I hope to do the same.
Place is a dump. We've reserved a table for a dinner, however when we arrived we were simply ignored. We were waiting at the entrance for a while, then I walked through the rooms to get attention of the staff. Waitresses were passing by and ignoring us. So we left. Also, place smelled quite nasty inside, and kitchen didn't look clean at all
Absolutely the best Japanese food you will find based on 50 years of dining there. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available Parking: Metered street parking and paid lot available
