Easily one of the best coffee shops in the east bay. Their drip is delicious and I love that they make their own baked goods (most other coffee shops buy from a handful of bakeries). My only verrry minor complaint is that they don’t fill up the cup for drip coffee (ain’t normal in the yellow cup vs CoRo for comparison). It’s minor, I know, but that means my happiness is over that much sooner.
The proprietor was a total jerk with a bad attitude. The food was okay if it wasn't so extremely overpriced. And the coffee was not great. I'd rather support local businesses, but come on. We should've gone to Starbucks.
Best made coffee I've found in Berkeley. The savory scones are tasty but a bit too salty for me to really complement the coffee. The beans vary: they get them from different roasters every month (?) so the flavor profile changes. The barristas are good at bringing out the best in the shots they pull, so if you're up for a little adventure give it a try. Vegetarian options: Much of the menu is vegetarian although not specifically labeled so. Oat milk is available for the coffee drinks so they can even be vegan.
Really great coffee shop, possibly one of, if not THE best coffee shop(s) in Oakland California, the coffee is really good, though have to say, the pastries are not the best, but that’s not to say that you shouldn’t go just because the pastries aren’t great, because like I said, the coffee there is really good, and my family frequently go here when we visit Oakland.
The food is overpriced and dry. Don’t get the tea, it’s under steeped and weak and if you try to correct that they’ll throw it out and explain that they steep only for the correct amount of time.
I got the coffee subscription when I was living in Oklahoma. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!
