Place was amazing, portion size was great, Staff was great. I will definitely be coming back. First time here but definitely not my last. Thank you
Outstanding selection of fresh sushi in a very nice environment!
Food was amazing. Service can use some more work. Our server literally forgot us and when he rememebered us he gave us completely the wrong things we asked for. But management was kind! Great if you would like a riceless sushi!
Great food and service. One of the best ayce I have been to.
You really get what you pay for. gross. It was all very disgusting. You can tell by the putrid smell walking up to the place
A solid all you can eat sushi spot for the money. Lots of room, but it can get pretty busy. We did the regular all you can eat but next time I’ll get the premium. Overall the sushi & food selection for AYCE is plentiful. The quality is great for all you can eat and for the price it’s worth it. You got three rounds & for premium you get also one round of their premium dishes. As compared to “Yes Sushi” back when they had AYCE, it’s just a tad below that quality. I base it off the fried squid legs which were very chewy and a few other items overall the sushi quality was great. The atmosphere is also pretty great and roomy. I took my family and we got a majority of the appetizers and sashimi, but only a handful of rolls. The roll quality was also really good. I’d definitely come back here again to get my “AYCE” sushi fix. Also if you didn’t know “AYCE” stands for “All you can eat” & I just found that out a week ago & thought it was a brand. Either way, a great spot to visit for sushi in Pasadena.
Server messed up 5 orders. She apologized that system was down and we waited a long time for food to arrive only for half the orders to be wrong. Sides seemed like they had been left out for too long. Server neglected to confirm that diet Pepsi was acceptable as a substitute for diet coke (minor point but menu did not list soft drink options). Wasabi and ginger were forgotten and needed to be requested after sushi arrived. Server then peaced out halfway through (lol) Service was so slow we struggled to get enough food that AYCE even made sense over a la carte: 2 hour limit and one round of food. Nigiri fish was fine, but the rice was hard and seemed overpacked. More like buffet quality sushi than an actual sushi place. Half order ramen was incredibly stingy with meat and noodles were low quality. Overall a lot of things that add to a really poor experience; I remember last time I went it wasn't this bad. Probably won't be back.
I didn't realize that Aikan sushi has more than one location. This Pasadena location is NOT the same as the Northridge in several ways. PRO: - Food seems consistently like the other location - Good tapas - Good ramen (1/2 order really IS only a half order) - AYCE sushi & tapas and also Al La Carte - Nice tapas portions CON: - Service is hit or miss - Street parking ONLY - No parking lot?!! - Street parking is 1 hour only - 1 bathroom for male, 1 for female. That is not enough in a restaurant this size. - 2 hour limit - Frequently miss parts of the order SUMMARY: I rather prefer the Northridge location. It's not because the food is different because it really isn't. But the lack of parking, and having to run out to the street to move your car is not convenient. Also the lack of bathrooms is not helpful. And this was coming here mid afternoon, I can only imagine when this place is busy!
