I heard it was a local favorite, so I had to try it out myself. Upon walking in, I had the option of dining in w/ option of bar dining or take out, I chose bar dining and self seating. I wasn't offered a menu as you would with seated dining, but Stefanie quickly greeted me and offered up a menu. She also took my drink order. I ordered the half gut buster, which was plenty of food for one or even to share, and a side of jalapeño cornbread. Let's start there, I wasn't a fan of the cornbread. It wasn't that wonderful, fluffy textured cornbread we all know. This was dense and crumbly, as if too much baking powder or baking soda was used, lacked the flavor of cornbread or that beautiful golden yellow color. Next, the gut buster! You had a choice of two-three sauces, I chose house, blueberry cherry and bourbon hot. The plate came with ribs, wings, pulled pork, crack chicken, mac/chz and coleslaw. Sauces: house and bourbon were good, but the blueberry OUTSTANDING, its a must try!! Unfortunately, you could tell the pulled pork and crack chicken definitely sat a bit before it was delivered to the table as it had that "heat lamp dried layer" on it. The wings could've had maybe 10 mins less smoke time, but overall good, the ribs were also top notch, great bark and fall off the bone. The mac/chz could've been a little more saucier but the flavor was there and finally the coleslaw was ok. I will for sure give this place another go as the atmosphere was nice, the shaved head food runner guy (didn't get his name) was personable, told me about the local honey sample they're now using and Stefanie, as busy as she was, never missed a beat even for a single diner like myself! For those reasons, I gave a 4 out of 5 for my dining experience!
