ABVE The Basics

ABVE the Basics is the definition of elevated Mexican food. I was very surprised by how creative and flavorful the food was. I would definitely come back for another bite.

4.5 stars First time visiting, and the experience was excellent. The service was really good and friendly. Stevie's bar offers a cool and chill vibe, and with the food provided by ABVE the Basics, it was a really awesome fit. The flavors of the burrito, Bay Area Surf and Turf, is a modern take on the burritos I usually buy in the East Side. The parking situation is pretty decent for the size of the plaza, so that was really appreciated.

This place is Rockin good. Food is on point. Lots of choices: Football size Surf & Turf Burrito, Elote & Mexican pizza etc.... Family friendly. Gabe is an excellent guy. Check it out...

Wish I had taken a pic of the food before I devoured it because it was SOOOOO good! Everyone was super nice, the food was really fast, and tasted amazing!!! Highly recommend you stop in and get a taco or bowl!

I am staying at the hotel across the street and was looking for somewhere I could get some good food that would be quick and reasonably priced as well as an adult beverage. The reviews for this place were pretty great so I decided to give it a shot. Xavier took my order and he was amazing. I would have thought he owned the place for how gracious and accommodating he was. This little gem is in a local bar in a strip mall that plays fun music and has pool tables, TVs and other games and is obviously popular with the locals. Beverages are self serve at the bar and more reasonably priced than I have seen elsewhere in town. On top of the service being great, I had the chicken shrimp burrito and it was perfect. Exactly what I was looking for and it did not disappoint. It was big and super filling so I also got to take my leftovers home for tomorrow. The gift that keeps on giving. Also, the churros are pretty great. I highly recommend this little hidden gem. Thanks Xavier!

Le doy cuatro estrellas porque la dona churro estaba un poco quemada, pero el Surf-and-turf si estaba de lo mas delicioso, y de bastante tamaño, me lo acabé por lo delicioso, pero si es como para dos, muy recomendable lugar..

Cali shrimp tacos were 10/10 Stevies has been one of my favorite bars for a long time. This is my second time eating here but worth taking the time to rave about the food. The tacos are cheesy/crunchy and the shrimp was cooked to perfection
