Unreal. Out of this world. I’m here right now and halfway through my second-ever Abiko udon bowl with chicken katsu. I came here by myself this time. I am typing this while eating. What are you doing, seriously… GET DOWN TO 32ND STREET!
food used to be great until they started replacing servers with kiosks and making 18% tip mandatory even though there’s… no service?
This used to be one of our favorite spots. But the quality of food has gone down since we started coming here several years ago. The seafood curry had only 2 pieces of shrimp. I don’t get why they’re stingy with the meat portions. Prices have gone up, $20 for a seafood curry but barely any seafood. They’ve also cut costs by replacing the wait staff with tablets at each table. The cutting costs is affecting the quality of food as well. The wait staff that we did interact with were great, restaurant is clean, bathrooms clean, prompt service, and food came out quick. Just unhappy with the food itself. I hope they can restore the restaurant to how it was previously.
We came here for lunch. We notice they added new kiosk on some of the tables so ordering is much quicker if you know what you want! Food: My go to order is simple curry rice spice level 2 with cheesy pork cutlet. Service: The kiosk system makes ordering very easy. The service here is great when it’s not super busy. Chopsticks and straws are usually on the side under the table. Overall: This is one of my favorite curry places to come when I’m around K Town!
I’ve been here many times over the years and this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it anymore. Not sure if ownership changed, but the food just isn’t worth it. The curry and the flavor is diluted, there’s no spice, and menu items just keep getting more expensive. When price goes up and quality goes down, I know it’s time to look elsewhere.
Portions are small for the price and the flavor of curry isn't as deep or rich as some other places.
The food was okay as far as Japanese curry goes. The main problem is that the price and the flat out lies in the descriptions. The food is definitely overpriced at 30 dollars for a pork katsu curry. They also claim to have unlimited refills on rice and curry but only to find out when you ask for it that it is a typo and costs extra. Refills are also only rice refills.
Food: Delicious food that’s been pretty consistently delicious for the past ~8 years that I’ve been going there / since its inception. I recommend trying the basic curry rice with chicken cutlet with a level 3 spice (if you can tolerate spice; lower if you can’t). The udon noodles are also good. Service: Service while decent can sometimes lag. While I have no complaints against service issues due to a crowd, I do unfortunately dislike a singular server there (amongst a bunch of other really nice ones) who has a bit of an attitude problem. Overall tho, great service. Atmosphere: It’s a small place so gets crowded very quickly and there’s a wait quite often - especially at prime time. But the service is pretty quick and they try to get you seated ASAP so not a huge deal - unless you’re really hungry I guess
