A Taste of the Island

Asked to sample the oxtails because they only offer one size for $33 and I wasn't about to spend that without tasting them first. Lady brought out a sample after 10 mins and I thought they tasted okay, but I wasn't spending $33. I asked for the curry chicken lunch special instead with oxtail gravy on the rice and another lady claimed they don't do that. I asked, well can you put it on the side in a container? I'll pay $2-$3 more and she claimed, they don't do that there. I was appalled. I explained to her, I'm from Miami, FL and every Jamaican restaurant I've ever been to never had a problem with such request! I was so disgusted, I just walked out and went to the establishment next door. I will never visit this place again. The first time I went couple months back, I had to constantly call them to see when they were opening and I sat in my vehicle from 11am - 11:30am and no one had arrived to open up! That should have taught me this was not a place to revisit.

Food good. Fresh and cook to order. Waiting area clean. Location near major interstate. Adequate parking. 10/10

I just visited Jamaica (Ochi) in January and this food was 100% better than the food I had on the island. I can tell it was made with love and the customer service was amazing as well

The lady told me she would text me once my food was ready. I waited 35 minutes for a text never got it. My food was seating in the counter. It’s a bit over price for what I bought. The food was ok.

I hate to dog a small black business but he kinda was rude and doesn't accept cash but it's my first time shouldn't of done me the favor. If he didn't have a Jamaican accent would if doubted he was jamaican. Chicken curry better at a Chinese restaurant the reason I said chicken curry is because it tasted mire like chicken then curry the bread was good but definitely not coco bread. Cabbage ok rice and peas might of been good but the curry chicken wS so bland I couldn't tell. I'm staying at the hotel for a couple of days may try the ribs smelled good. The cake was refrigerator tasting if you know what I mean.

Best jerk chicken in Atlanta.
