I crave this place once a week
Great fish & chips and even has a store next door to buy some UK treats! Was served by a great lad called Charlie.
This is an average fish and chips place. Chips are really nothing to recommend. Cod was good. Asked the person for a bit of lemon and they said they don’t have any. There is no exhaust, the oily smell clings to your clothes and kills your appetite. I have no idea why this place is a recommended one on Eater.
the haddock was crispy and not oily but had a little of a “fishy” taste to it. and the inside smells extremely oily, and they dont have outside seating. and it was very hot. the chips were not very good; oily, soggy and somehow lukewarm too. i guess good in a pinch but not preferable.
Eh i was expecting more idk what but definitely more of what i received (quality wise) but that damn tartar sauce is amazing!
Went here 10 years ago and pleased to say that it's still just as good! Just more expensive now (I paid 16), but that's the current times. Maybe because I'm older , I appreciate fish even more now. I got a regular cod and chips. Fish was soft and flaky , crispy batter. That tartar sauce is crack ! Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. This is a great spot for your fish and chips craving. The establishment is a bit hot and toasty inside though. There are seats outside , or you can go to the nearby park to enjoy your meal.
Food made to order. I only took a train and was able to get a bit of Brit. I got the cod fish and chips, and my sister got the haddock. Both were amazing.
