Great options, get the rabbit!!! Dog friendly outdoor seating.
Made reservations for early dinner before a concert next door at Charleston Music Hall. Food was mediocre as was the service. Ordered steak au poive. Came out as a heavily peppercorn crusted steak in its natural juices. No cognac cream sauce as a traditional should be served…. Disappointed Had to ask waiter for a steak knive several minutes after serving. Other dishes at the table just lacked flavor.
The food has always been great. Marcus. Is awesome. The rest of the staff is like a Circus. From the front Reception to the Ring Leader who walked past my table with my untouched meal. That our waitress never came back to check to see if we were ok once receiving our food. Manager walked by me 7 times without even looking at surroundings to see if people were enjoying or needing assistance water etc. which is what a true leader would be doing. Sorry for my grammar as I’m close to shaking so upset with the way this place has gone down hill. Their is too many restaurants Downtown Charleston for bad service
My friend and I made reservations for restaurant week and we were very pleased with the food and the service. The grilled shrimp dish that they’ve been serving during restaurant week is absolutely delicious and so was the cappuccino cake.
Great atmosphere and service and food was delicious!
Had a great experience. Will be back
This was my second time at Rue de Jean. I visited a couple years ago and felt it was a bit overrated, but this second trip completely changed my mind. I read someone else’s post raving about the chicken francaise and wow… it was delicious. My dirty martini was well balanced (however no bleu cheese stuffed olives). I’ll be coming back simply for that chicken. Knocking one star off for service as I stood for about 5 minutes before the woman at the front greeted me, and it wasn’t busy. Other than that, our service was excellent. Thanks Rue de Jean!
Our special place. Can't say enough about 39 Rue de Jean... it's always excellent!
